I am a customer of Ameriquest mortgage. During the first 6 months of being their customer everything was fine, in fact I even refinanced to take some cash out for some home remodeling. I talked my parents into refinancing through them too.

Boy do I feel bad now! Not only did I get charged outragous closing costs and was over appraised, but my parents were harmed as well.

You see, my father was terminally ill at the time. Ameriquest knew this. My mother asked over and over again "Will we be able to get mortgage insurance?" a representative my parents were working with by the name of Jason Young told her "Yes, we are the only mortgage company that will do this, if one of you were to die tomarrow, your house would be paid for." They even went as far as to send their "Insurance guys" over to meet with my parents and have them sign the papers. They seen how ill my father was and still went on with their charade about how they were there to provide mortgage insurance.

My parents were even provided with a "Proof of Insurance" document that later was found to be nothing more than an insurance application passed off as the real deal. These guys knew that my mother didnt know much about mortgages and insurance and my father was to sick to even know what was going on.

Well guess what, My father passed away in october and now my mother is left to pay a mortgage she cannot afford. Now she has to sell her home that she loves and find a townhouse because up until the day my father died she believed her home would be paid for and she would be alright. She tried to talk to Jason Young on the phone but he wanted nothing to do with her anymore. Mr Young, Shame on you! and shame on Ameriquest mortgage for treating people like you do! I will tell everybody and anybody about what kind of low life scum you are and if I can stop just one person from falling into your web of deciet, than unlike you I can look myself in the mirror and know I did something good!!

I got a call just tonight

#5Consumer Suggestion

Wed, March 16, 2005

Firstly, I'm sorry for all the folks that got ripped off by Ameriquest Mortgage. I, too, was looking for a lender and was approached by Ameriquest. I got a call just tonight (March 15, 2005) from an Ameriquest representative in Sacramento, CA. I told him, "Sorry, but I know about you because of RipoffReport.com." The guy had an oily chuckle as I hung up the phone on him.

I did talk to a local lender today as I've switched gears and will be building rather than buying. I told him of Ameriquest and he said that they are the only company he feels strongly enough about to warn folks away from. He also told me that a class action suit is in the works, so all of you out there with unresolved problems regarding Ameriquest, be on the watch for the suit to be announced.

Good luck, and always check RipoffReport before doing anything!

To call ACORN or not to call ACORN.

I wasn't sure what I should do, so what I did was, I sent a complaint to ACORN, and the Attorney General. So lets see what, if anything happens. If something does, you better believe I'll let everyone know. If I get no results then I'll find another road, because I don't think I'm ready to give up just yet.

The more people I hear of that were hurt by this company, the angrier I'm getting. There has to be a way to throw some of the hurt right back at them! Ameriquest, soon to be AMC mortgage services, Gee I wonder why they changed their name, because you can change a name, but not a reputation, Anyway, Ameriquest is getting away with what they are doing and I can't figure out how. But I'll keep trying.

I'm looking into class action lawsuits, and I'm putting complaints in every place that will let me. I may not be able to make them change their ways, or fix the wrongs they have done, but they'll sure know who I am!!!

ACORN? Lot of good it did. NONE

#5Consumer Suggestion

I would strongly suggest NOT using ACORN. My relatives used them, everything was fine. They did as ACORN wanted them to do, as they contacted Ameriquest.
Lot of good it did. NONE. They denied everything that they JUST made an agreement upon. Then, ACORN all of a sudden jumped ship. They ended up NOT helping, no response was made, no phone calls returned.
They said they had no ACORN in that state and Ameriquest told them to stay out of it.
Tells all of you that awful power AQUEST has. I read an article in the LA Times and NY Times.
ACORN was paid off by AQUEST to tell people what they wanted to hear and make promises. But, the promises were just that.
It is very sad this happens and it happens to others we have have come across.
