I worked for this company for more than one month less than a year (sorry I have to protect myself) and saw the most horrific display of professionalism I have ever seen. In my tenure, I was immediatly introduced to dooping customers into thinking that they cannot get loans elsewhere.

I had co-workers who hung commision checks that were highlighted because they "sold" a customer on a loan that was a joke. Charging $20k in closing costs to justify a 8% rate.

Honestly, I have no remorse for the people who signed loans previously with Ameriquest becauase COM'ON, you HAVE to read what you are signing. Closing attornies HAVE to let you know that your payment is and what it includes...also, on your mortgage note, it says FIXED RATE MORTGAGE or ADJUSTABLE RATE MORTGAGE. If you signed one of these then they claim you are an idiot and cannot complain about anything.

But going back to the main reasons why these things happen. The "mortgage specialist" you worked with took your application and pulled your credit to find out what your credit score was and debts were. If you are above a 620 "mid score" you can go ANYWHERE to get a loan folks. AS LONG AS YOU CAN AFFORD IT! We were taught to beat up a customer on their credit to make them feel obligated to do ANYTHING to fix it..."the credit rebuild program"...we did it all the time.

Truth be told, yes, if you are paying off a considerable amount of bad debt (high limit credit cards or instalment debt such as car loans that have been delinquent in the past) your score will go up. and i have seen them go up by 40-50 points. But if you get a 2/28 cashout refinance because your credit score "is nearly unlendable" in the state of MA, then you are soarly mistaken.

This will by no means improve your credit score...HOW WILL IT?!?! think about it...unless of course you are late on your mortgage, then you would have to wait at least 12 months to get clean mortgage history. Also, Ameriquest tells us to tell you the customer that we will refinance you in 6 months when you get a better score for free...

This is the best lie they tell...the branches won't even call you back if you have been with its service company "AMC services" longer than 2 years...why...we don't get commission. You have to call our "portfolio retention" and talk to someone who won't help you unless they get a payoff request...

Last few rants...i had collegues laugh about loans they closed that shouldn't have, seen processors forge w-2s, sign stated income loans on people with no job, "do what you need to do" or get fired...they threatened us everyday with if we didn't perform we would get fired...EVERYDAY...if you worked under those conditions you would bend and break the rules to get things done...after all you must CYA... why should we care if you get screwed...at least we have a job right now...

but I just got laid off. I didn't get to keep my job because I did the "right thing" and didn't commit fraud and scam people. I didn't do good because of this lawsuit, and I'm not at all concerned with getting a job at another company that doens't belittle its employees and make them feel like garbage so they get things done. Thanks for "financing my american dream" Ameriquest, for laying me off right before Christmas...

Everybody can say, they were young, they were promised good money, yada, yada, yada. But, the bottom line is this-we all know right from wrong. If you were raised by parents with any kind of values at all, you know ripping people off is wrong. If you're told to do something unethical, and you choose to do it, you are as guilty as your employer. There are no excuses, no "feel sorry for me, I was duped", it's wrong! And, if you work someplace for a week, a month, a year, and there's illegal activity going on, and you don't report it, it's the same thing.
The Bible says" if you condone a sin, you are guilty of it". same thing in this instance. If you sit at a deak next to people that are hanging up commission checks because they've duped John Q Public again, and making good money at it, you've done it yourself. There is no excuse to not go somewhere and tell someone exactly what is going on.

How unreal that you continue to DEFEND these people...

#36Consumer Comment

Sun, March 26, 2006

Yes, we know that the reps are young, dumb and trained to be liars and theives with no conscience at all. This does not excuse them.

Yes, they screwed customers were "taken by them" also BUT the big difference here is we are NOT liars and theives. Ameriquest is very good at deceiving hard working people, that's their job. You would think this company was the best thing ever to come along according to their lying reps. And your comment about us knowing they were lying to us but closed anyway? Before you comment, get your facts straight. I didn't know of the lies and deceit until AFTER I closed, ok?

If I applied for a job and was told it was the "job of a lifetime", I would not be ignorant enough to believe it. Come on, get real. A person would have to be almost retarded to stay with a company after they have been trained in the manner in which Ameritheft practices. And if I made a ton of money by stealing from people, I would not even be able to look at myself in the mirror. But, from your comments, I guess you could, huh Ms. Beth? I have no experience in lending and I would most surely KNOW I was doing something wrong. Geesh....we blame ignorance on people now just because they are young. Unreal!

I would not commend anyone from this rotten company. And, if they are "crucified" by screwed customers, they deserve every bit of it. I am sick of getting screwed by this s**t company and I know all other customers feel the same. Then to read crap from some little smartass who still works there is enough to make me want to vomit. What makes me even sicker is people who get on here and DEFEND the idiots.

If you feel this Craig person could be a star witness in a lawsuit, you are living in a dream world. He wouldn't stand up for anyone who was screwed by his so-called wonderful company. If this happened, which it wouldn't, it would be like committing suicide in court.

So if we're "a little harsh" on Craig and others, they are so deserving of it right along with you.

Everyone, in defense of Craig and the other FORMER Ameriquest employees. As you all know, Ameriquest is made up of a bunch of young kids who are trained to be bs artists. From the lowest one on the todem pole to the branch managers. They are all bullshit artists - and good ones judging by the number of you who have also been taken by them! So don't fault these young people for trusting Ameriquest, BECAUSE YOU DID TOO! They took the jobs, but you took the loans and you KNEW you were lied to and closed anyway!

Unsuspecting souls like Craig, with no previous lending experience, get an opportunity at what they're being told is the job of a lifetime! They'll make more money than they ever have, they'll get the training, etc. Come on, so many of you refinanced with them and closed even when they lied to you, why wouldn't a young kid being promised the world take the job? Believe me - with no experience in lending they didn't realize they were doing anything wrong. They all thought they were superstars I'm sure.

Commend them for coming forward and telling the truth, don't crucify them for working there. It's people like Craig who could be the star witnesses in a lawsuit someday.......

Outrageous fees, inflated appraisals.....

#36Consumer Comment

Sat, January 07, 2006

I work for another financial institution--and I have had some bad dealings w/Ameriquest in that regard. Reading some of these posts just reaffirmed what I already know; they charge outrageous fees and inflate their appraisals.
I must disagree w/the people who say that all of Ameriqest's employees are bad.....there has to be some good ones, even if they are few and far between. It's the law of statistics!! I believe that many of them recognized the error of their ways, and have since moved on to other employment. However, after dealing w/Ameriquest at my current employer, I am inclined to believe that there are a lot more "bad" employees than good ones. However, I am giving the benefit of the doubt to the author, as I don't think he would have exposed himself to this criticism if he didn't believe people needed to know what was happening "behind the scenes".
Anyway, enough of that jabbering. My reason for this post is to straighten out this statement taken from another post,

"You need a 680 FICO score at minimum and 6 months worth of cash reserves, plus your debt to income ratio (DTI) must be 36% or lower, in order to "go anywhere" to get a loan, and in that case you're only options are a 15 year or 30 year fixed rate mortgage. If you are looking for any other type of mortgage, have a DTI higher than 36%, are looking to borrow 80% of the value of your property or more, have lates on your current mortgage, have a bankruptcy within the last 7-10 years, are self employed and write the majority of your income off at tax time, have a spotty work history, want more than $2,000 cash out, consolidating debt, don't want private mortgage insurance, or have a FICO score lower than 680, YOU ARE NOT going to qualify for a loan at your local bank. "

Sorry it is so long, but there is a lot I wanted to address. I suppose the reason that people go to Ameriquest is because they believe the information I have quoted above.
First, you don't necessarily need a 680 FICO score to qualify for a home loan, (refi or purchase). People who are just starting out often times have limited credit and a lower score.....so alternative credit sources can be used. For example, phone bill, rental history, electric bill, etc. Also, something out of the person's control could have happened so the payments were made late.....disability, death in the family, loss of job, etc. Banks will take this into consideration!
You don't need six months of reserves either. Two can usually do it, sometimes less depending on the loan program. Debt to income ratio can be higher than 36%--that is a very conservative number and most institutions will go higher. If there is a good reason as to why there were lates on the credit report or as to why bankruptcy was filed, the bank underwriter can oftentimes still approve it. If a person is self employed and writes most income off, perhaps a stated income loan can be looked at. Consolidating debt is usually not a big deal anywhere either. If you don't want to pay mortgage insurance get an 80/20 loan.
On an FHA mortgage, which many small banks and almost all credit unions can do....there is no minimum FICO score. They can do 97% financing and you can get the remaing 3% plus closing costs as a gift or seller concessions. The debt to income ratio can go up to 48%, sometimes higher if the underwriter will approve it. And there is no prepayment penalty or recapture fee!

Just some generic advice, many of you probably know already,,,, but shop around for rates and fees. Once place may quote you a very low rate but be raping you on the fees.
If you run into problems w/your mortgage company, document everything. Call their 800# and keep hitting zero until you get a person. And then talk to the manager. As the saying my grandmother always said goes, "the squeaky wheel gets the grease". It seems as though after while you would talk to someone who knows what is going on and can do something about it!

Sorry for being so long winded, and good luck to all in their Ameriquest endeavors!

#36Consumer Suggestion

Wed, December 28, 2005

Because you are from Minnesota, I will be a little bit nicer than usual, unless you are from the Woodbury branch, then you can kiss my a*s!

You are a liar! Is the crap coming out of your mouth what Ameriquest teaches you to say? Keep telling yourself what you know is not true.

I guess NO ONE at Ameriquest is doing their job if their job is explaining the loan to the customer.

Not every mortgage company has customers who complain. Do you know why??? Because THEY are doing their job and treating their customers like PEOPLE instead of a paycheck. I found a very good mortgage company who I used to purchase my first home, and then help me get out of the "mortgage" you A**holes tried to give me.

Go work for a reputable mortgage company instead of defending a worthless one. They will be shutting their doors soon anyway with all the lawsuits coming up. Then you'll be sitting on the corner begging for money with all of Ameriquest's customers. Maybe one of them will "do the right thing" and teach you a lesson about ETHICS.

#36Consumer Comment

Sat, December 24, 2005

You are VERY wrong about every mortgage company being on a rip-off report. The mortgage company, I mean the reputable mortgage company I had before signing with YOUR suckass company, is NOT on this report.

I'm sick of hearing about how Ameritheft employees say they are ALL accused of being fraudulent and liars. You know why they are accused of this? Because THEY ARE!

You say you write 25,000 loans monthly? I have heard that from one of your so-called reps. That's the excuse I got when I asked why one of my payments had not been posted. There are so many payments being processed, that's WHY YOU CAN'T POST YOUR CUSTOMER'S PAYMENTS CORRECTLY!! If your company can't handle the load, don't you think maybe your process should be re-evaluated?

And I think that you should read more rip-off reports. Do you not see that YOUR company has the most? Maybe that is because YOUR company rips off the MOST PEOPLE!! Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

Maybe you should take heed of the "ex-employees" comments on here. Maybe YOU will be the next to be out of a job. Or maybe not.... you may be one of the cheating and lying reps that will keep your job since you practice the corrupt practices of this company.

I want NO advice from you. I would not believe a d**n word you say. You can blow smoke all you want but we, the customers, know what kind of person you are to be working for a company such as Ameriquest.

No, we were NOT forced to sign your fraudulent contract. We were just duped into believing YOUR company was reputable. Oh yes, we have the ability to back out...but do you allow us to even breathe between the pushy phone calls and lies? Not hardly.

For future reference.....get a REAL job. Oh, but you probably won't be able. DO YOU THINK ANY REPUTABLE COMPANY WOULD WANT TO HIRE THE LIKES OF YOU? I don't think so.

Don't even try to state that YOUR JOB IS TO EXPLAIN all terms of the loan. That is a bold faced lie. You guys get hard working people to sign your bogus contracts then laugh with your stupid co-workers of how you ripped off another poor individual who will become a lot more poor after paying the ridiculous closing costs and monthly fees you can't explain. Tell me, is it common practice to hurry your customers, at closing, so they have no time to read the REVISED CONTRACT that you, oops, forgot to tell them was revised?

GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT before mouthing off on here. Better yet, get your life straight so you can sleep better at night. Get counseling. You need it. When you become one of the "ex-employees" will you forget you slammed them for posting their story? Will you be whining on here along with them? I'm sure you will. Will we, the customers, give a s**t? You can answer that one I'm sure. We will be laughing like you did when you ripped us off.

I hope your family enjoys the gifts you bought with the money you stole from the pockets of customers you lied to and defrauded. Merry Christmas.

Get your facts straight!!

#36UPDATE Employee

Fri, December 23, 2005

First of all, I'd like to address the fact that every single mortgage company out there has a "rip-off report" on this site. We have a 7 day recision period (federal law mandates a 3 day recision period) to ensure that you have ample time to review the terms of your loan, and back out of the loan (rescind) if you feel like you're not getting the best deal. There is no excuse for not reading your closing documents, we're not talking about a checking account here, we're talking about your home. As the nations largest privately held mortgage company, writing 25,000 loans on a monthly basis, there are bound to be complaints, and dissatisfied customers. I find it interesting that the majority of the complaints, are from "ex-employees" who were employed for 1-3 months at one branch out of 270 nationwide, yet claim to know enough to attack the integrity of every employee that works for our company. The fact is, we are trained to keep our customers 100% educated as to the terms of the loan that they're signing, if we do not make certain that this is the done, than we're not doing our job correctly, and will end up being terminated because of their incompetence. These people who've been fired are the same people who wrote the loans that are dishonest, and their job loss is a direct result of their lack of integrity. So in response to "why should I get sued", you should be sued for writing fraudulent loans, and tarnishing Ameriquests reputation. This is the reason you were terminated, and finding it hard to find another job in the industry.

Do you want to take advice from a guy who's been in the industry for 1 month? You need a 680 FICO score at minimum and 6 months worth of cash reserves, plus your debt to income ratio (DTI) must be 36% or lower, in order to "go anywhere" to get a loan, and in that case you're only options are a 15 year or 30 year fixed rate mortgage. As you can see, the majority of the population falls into this category. Our loans are priced based on the risk factor from a lending standpoint, which is standard operating procedure, industry wide. If you pose a higher risk, you pay more, and get a higher interest rate. This goes for any type of loan, from credit cards to automobile loans.

The bottom line is that you, nor anyone else, was forced to sign their closing documents at gun point. You have the ability to back out for 7 days after you sign.

For future reference, READ THE TERMS OF YOUR LOAN AND ASK QUESTIONS REGARDING TERMS THAT YOU MAY NOT FULLY COMPREHEND, OUR JOB IS TO EXPLAIN IT TO YOU!!

I do feel sorry for you and me and every other poor individual who became an Ameriquest customer. But it is not pity, it is only with sorrow that we have all become victims of this company.

Regarding the way Ameriquest handles principle payments......I made a couple of overpayments (not much) and specifically indicated in the memo section what portion was to be applied towards the principle. They put this in their suspense account. I believe that it would still be there if I had not wrote yet another letter stating this was illegal and the funds were to be placed towards principle. After they received the letter, the funds were immediately applied towards the principle. It just makes me wonder how many people they are screwing that do not question where their funds are placed.

Everyone needs to be pay close attention to their statements and any documents that they receive from Ameriquest. I used to keep my Ameriquest documents in a green hanging folder. When that overflowed, I went to a large expandable briefcase. Now, I have a printer paper box and it's close to being full.

You are so right, Markanna, about keeping a log. I have a log of calls, a log of proof of payments, and a file exclusively for letters received and sent to Ameriquest. I also have files containing letters I've sent to the Attorney General, Senators, Governors and the Better Business Bureau.

I hope the theives at Ameriquest do read this website. I have written and responded to many postings on here and I hope they read all of them. They have probably had to hire a crew just to go onto this website and read the material from dissatisfied customers.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2006, this wonderful company is raising my payment almost $200. They just continue to drive that knife into my back. But, while they try to make me miserable, I do the same. I continually send letters with questions forcing them to have to respond. They now have their "parent company" legal advisor, or whatever her title is, responding to me. I guess I should feel intimidated. Yea right. Nothing they do surprises me anymore.

Thanks for the website information. I'll be checking it out for sure. No, I haven't been told my file is lost. It's probably too big to lose! HA! Hopefully, they will "miraculously" locate yours because I'm sure they will when they believe it will benefit them.

Good luck and have a very Merry Christmas!

Thanks Kathleen that was nice of you to offer your help to help us during Christmas.

I would like everyone here to know that I am here to let people know how Ameriquest treats their borrowers and that I'm not here so people will feel sorry for us, I'm very happy that I can pay my bills and keep food on the table.

My sister will suffer from what Ameriquest has done to us for ever but we will have to deal with that day by day.

I'm glad to hear that you have read some of what I have been through and have done to try to resolve this nightmare.

I just found out that since I've been making my payments that none of the money has gone to the principle amount.

watch out for forced placed insurance.

if you have not started a file yet you will need to.

you should keep a call log of everyone you talk to and what it was about, time date names and employees title and numbers.

if you keep good records it will help you in the long run.

I've been told by Shanna Smith of the National Fair Housing alliance that Ameriquest reads this web site and others, HI AMERIQUEST!

Ok, I was wrong for calling every employee or ex-employee of Ameriquest theives. You are about the only one I have seen that has actually done something about how Ameriquest practices and I applaud you. The only thing I have heard from the employees who were recently fired is how bad they now have it. A lot of them brag about how much money they made from lying to people to get signed contracts. But I see you are altogether difference and I appreciate you posting your comments.

It was thoroughly refreshing to read that at least one person saw through all the fraud and evil practices. I hope, after you testify, that you will let us know how it went.

You and Markanna are so right about what comes around goes around and I am happy to see some of it happening right now.

I have read many postings of Markanna's and it's truly heartbreaking that a company such as Ameriquest has put her in such a position as with the rest of us. My heart goes out to you Markanna and I hope that you can find some enjoyment during the holiday season. At least you have your family near and, hopefully, they are all well and healthy. I strongly believe that one day Ameriquest will be investigated and shut down and we will all be vindicated.

Again, Nikki, I apologize to you and if there are others like you, I am sorry to them also. I'm glad you were fired because it just opened another door for you at a reputable company.

For Nikki, I'm very glad you now have a job you like and are happy at. For Markanna, I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I just know things will turn around for you. It can't get any worse I'm sure. I wish I could talk to you more. I would love to send your children a gift for Christmas but I sure don't know how to go about contacting people on here. If you know of a way, please let me know ok?

Merry Christmas and keep smiling.

Thank you for being honest and for helping, I myself am grateful for any help that we can get.

You are right when you say what comes around goes around.

it would be nice if more People would come foreword to help in what ever way they can even if its just some GOOD advice, to come here and call names and bash each other will get us No where.

The People who did bad things will pay in the long run some how, when that day comes maybe they will know why and change their ways.

I am struggling every day dealing with what they have done to me and my family I don't know how they can sleep at night knowing what they have and still are doing to us.

I've been struggling for over a year now 3 mortgage companies in 1 year and all 3 in violation of RESPA laws and more.

I know that there will be a end to all of this and that nothing ever stays the same.

I will be thing good things for you, good luck in life and I think that some how you will be paid you back in the long for helping us.

Please keep us updated.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone.

#36UPDATE EX-employee responds

Wed, December 14, 2005

Everyone was decieved by Ameriquest! Borrowers who thought they did their homework and still got ripped off AND SOME employees!
I worked as a processor for Ameriquest for about 9 months in 2004. I thought I was working for a great company (at first). There was no "do what you have to do" during my training. I was a single mother, and this job gave me great hours and money! But, After a few months of working there and being asked to do illegal things I made a decsion, I contact my local attorney general. While refusing to do anything illegalover the next few months, I did make copies and record incidents of these happenings to give to the OAG. I was fired for insubordination! I refused to close a loan for a non-english speaking person that did NOT fully understand what she was signing. Right now, in Texasm, there is a HUGE investigation going on. I have been called to testify against Ameriquest. And I will!

I think it is unfair to say that all former employees are IDIOTS and THIEVEs and whatever else some of you called us. I personally did NOT do anything to cheat anyone! I did see it happen, I told the appropriate people about it, and now I have made a mission to help destroy Ameriquest!

I now work for SupremeLending. I am quite happy here and can honestly say that I have NEVER seen or been asked to do anything illegal!

To EVERYONE: I am sorry for all your misfortunes with Ameriquest! Sorry, that the company even exists!

To Former Employees: Yes, it does suck to be jobless before Christmas! Good luck in your searches for a new job. If you are one of the ones who ripped someone off....know that what goes around comes around....and GOD see's everything!

Speaking of IDIOTS Craig Mr. Ex-employee of FRAUDULENT Ameriquest

#36Consumer Comment

Sat, December 10, 2005

For your information, Mr. Ex-employee of FRAUDULENT Ameriquest, if you worked or work at Ameriquest......you DID commit fraud. You would not have lasted more than a week if you weren't ripping people off every day.

You forget how many ex-employees post the fraudulent and theiving activities that Ameriquest practices. I have read too many not to believe them. When you went through your little training class, you should have known right then that the training consisted of .....lying to customers, getting signed contracts no matter what it takes, preying on the elderly, etc.

Before you call a decent, hard working and truthful person a FRIGGIN IDIOT, look in the mirror and ask yourself if you can say the same. I believe NOT! You ex-employees can whine all you want that you weren't just as fraudulent as the rest of them but we, the customers, know better. IF YOU DIDN'T PLAY THE GAME, YOU DIDN'T KEEP YOUR JOB!

Yes, we all work for a living but most of us, the people who DO NOT work for a company such as Ameriquest, work for reputable companies. I could never lie to people like you reps do. Your colleages were lying and stealing just as you were. You can keep saying how honest you were all you want but I believe you are not only trying to convince people on this site but yourself as well.

If you have job offers, well, I would like to know where so I will have nothing to do with a company that hires people like you. You have been Ameriquest-trained (not a good thing) and this so called training will follow you to your next job. I pity the company who hires ex-employees of Ameritheft.

Yea, I got ripped off but it will not happen again. I got ripped off by reps who lined their pockets with money they stole from me and continue to steal daily.

Like I said, I have a great job and I have no skeletons in my closet....more than I can say for you. I have ripped off NO ONE. I DO sleep well thank you. You probably do also because you DIDN'T CARE THAT YOU WERE RIPPING PEOPLE OFF AND STEALING THEIR HOMES PUTTING THEM OUT ON THE STREET. Maybe now, with no job, you may be out on the street with them. Can't say I really give a s**t.

Merry Christmas!

Craig,
If all you are doing is coming on here to tell us we are idiots and dumb, what's your point? You are doing exactly what i said to a previous poster...you are defending your actions for working at Ameriquest.

If I were you, I would forget you ever worked there or never admit that you did because this is what happens when you do. You are dealing with a lot of very angry customers of the company you worked for. What more do you expect???

Whether you yourself committed fraud or not, you worked there; you worked for a company that defines fraud, and yet you are here calling the customers dumbasses and idiots. Shame on you. Just move on and quit trying to defend your actions because they are falling on deaf ears. The only thing we hear, is that you worked at Ameriquest and that's it.

I was just stating that under my short tenure it never happened at least what I was able to see. #36UPDATE EX-employee responds

First of all, I was AT the branch that this is talking about for a little over two months. NOTHING LIKE THIS EVER HAPPENED. When I first started we had a manager who hid in his office and one day was fired (or quit for all I know) and we got a new guy from NY. We did the least amount of loans in the region (including CT, RI, and NH). Who ever wrote this was probably just upset and trying to take it out. I know there are better companies to work for, but after reading this, Kathleen you are a FRIGGIN IDIOT. This person is saying that they DIDN"T participate in these things and because of it lost their job...DO YOU NOT SEE THIS?!?!?!

I got laid off too, and if it makes you feel better at night thinking I won't get another job, keep thinking that. I have 4 job offers now...and more on the way. I am the most honest person you will ever meet and if you read the s**t on this webpage and take it as truth you prove your ignorance.

First...think before you speak, and re-read the sentences above that say this person was laid off FOR NOT PARTICIPATING IN FRAUD...We all work for a living, and all need money, that's why we all work...You don't just pick up and leave if you see a colleage doing something you don't like. You do your job with honesty and integredy and ignore the others. That's what I did...not that there was anything to hide from.

Honestly, sorry if you feel you got ripped off, but call a mortgage broker and get out of the loan. If you cant then wait, build equity and start again in a few months. Its sucks that some in my old company were dishonest, but there are in every mortgage company a few bad apples who ruin it for everyone else...

While I'm glad you finally realized what Ameriquest does is wrong, it still doesn't excuse the fact that you worked there and expect some sort of exemption from angry customers simply because you only worked there 5 months. The fact is, you worked there...and it took you 5 months to get out. I'm not trying to personally attack you, but you are here trying to defend your choice to work for Ameriquest and you shouldn't. You should put it behind you and move on, or face the angry customers, like you have chosen to do.

Ameriquest makes its money off of lying and cheating its customers...how do you think you got paid? Just by working there, you were involved in ripping off thousands of customers.

#36Consumer Comment

Sat, December 03, 2005

I have read, more than once, how you were trained. You received this training prior to becoming an Ameriquest employee. So you knew what kind of job you were getting into. You were taught to lie to customers, do just about anything to get them to sign the "bogus" contract.

As far as SUBPRIME MORTGAGE COMPANIES......have you checked out the advertisements for Ameriquest? Do you see where they say they are a SUBPRIME MORTGAGE COMPANY? I, for one, did NOT know this was a subprime company. I did NOT know I would be lied to. I did NOT know they would continue on with their cheating ways and raise interest rates even more after their 2 year period. I did NOT know that a prepayment penalty was a PRIVILEGE as stated in the document, not in the contract by the way, I was just sent.

So don't tell me or anyone else how we shouldn't be pissed at all of you. You ALL knew the kind of company you would be working for. So I feel sorry for no one. I am glad Ameriquest is laying off people. Hopefully, they will shut down altogether. I pray for that day!

I understand how you all feel who have been ripped of by the company. To make broad statements about everyone who has ever worked for Ameriquest shows an absolute lack of not only fairness, but class. I worked for them for 3 months. I NEVER lied to anyone which is probably why I only closed 5 loans the entire time I was there (most people were closing 8 per month).
I as well as many others were treated so poorly by management that you would not believe some of the stories. I was flat out told once to pose as a borrower in order to get a payoff from another company or it would cost my job. I quit that day and never looked back.
Those of you who were ripped off have a right to be angry with the compnay and the people who you dealt with that were dishonest. But to call everyone that worked there ever a cheat, or liar, or worse just shows that you don't know what you are talking about. Imagine how you would feel if you found out one day that this supposed American Dream company you were told would give you a career helping people turned out to be a sinister chop shop and you had uprooted your family to relocate and take the job? It doesn't feel good trust me. But I do sleep well knowing that I never caused any of the problems some of you have.
As an aside...closing costs should not even be brought upo because if you know anything about the mortgage industry...ALL SUBPRIME MORTGAGE COMPANIES HAVE VERY HIGH FEES! It is the price of having poor credit. I work in the wholesale side now for a very well-respected lender and even our fees are usualy between 3-6% of the loan amount.

I think everyone here knows Ameriquest's reputation. I think we all know, as customers, that we made a mistake in signing the loan. But who the hell are some of you people to come here and tell us we are idiots and you have no remorse for committing FRAUD!? The employees that work for Ameriquest are ALL liars and cheaters...and if you say you are not, you are in denial. Nobody goes to work for that company thinking they are going to be doing anything good for the customer. Ameriquest is a rotten company which would explain why there are multiple lawsuits, not to mention investigations in 30 states.

I am so sick of anybody who tries to defend them. ARE YOU DUMB? Ameriquest is going to go under and anyone who defends them deserves to go with them!

You are only making yourselves look foolish by pathetically trying to defend Ameriquest. Jeez, I thought WE were the idiots.

For your information, Mr. smartass Tito (what kind of name is that?) have you not checked out Ameriquest's commercials? Have you not checked out their website? Do they advertise they are a SUB PRIME lender? I don't think so. I researched other lenders you moron and Ameriquest seemed like a good choice at the time. Their lies and deceit are hidden behind their advertising.

You are just like all the others except you didn't work at scumbag Ameriquest. You compare a pool, another compares a lawn mower. Couldn't you come up with something a little more similar to a MORTGAGE LOAN?

As far as your "backward a*s state" comment ... another example of your intelligence level. You think Massachusetts is any better? Think again sucker. There are good people out here that got screwed royally by Ameriquest and continue to get screwed daily. Why are you defending this theiving company? Do you have some kind of interest in it? Probably.....

You don't know what you would do if you lost your home? You would if you had financed it with Ameriquest. They do not think twice about throwing people out on the street. The reps and this scum of the earth company only think about how much money they can make on yet another fraudulent deal.

Yes, people get burnt everyday by huge companies like Ameritheft but if the people who "got burnt" don't stand up and make others aware, then this unreputable company will continue to defraud and lie to unsuspecting customers. What happened to respect? Can you answer that? And are you sure you didn't work there? I see you can't spell like the rest of them.

Why Whobidy heeeebidy Ms. Lesa. I sures am be sorry for y'all. Your words are a little harsh. You say that hopefully you will meet them on the street. What would you do besides nothing?? Here is how I feel about Ameriquest and the people who use them.

A. If you dealt with them, your credit probably sucked and you should have shopped around for different programs. I know beggers cant be choosers, but trust me......EVERYONE WANTS YOUR LOAN, especially if you have bad credit.

B. If you had good credit, you are a sucker. Why would you go to a SUB PRIME lender with good credit. My friends see this all the time. Ameriquest has a niche. As an American, you should know a companies niche before you do busines with them...... Can you buy a pool @ walmart?? YES YOU CAN. Should you buy a pool @ walmart?? NO PROBABLY NOT. You should go to a pool installation company if you want it done right!!!!! DUUUUH

C. If you have good credit, go to your local bank. I think everyone in America knows that. It is kind of an unspoken rule for everyone who doesnt live in say.... Alabama, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, or anyother backward a*s state.

D. If its a purchase, pay 300 bucks and hire an attorney>>>>>> enough said

E. Whether a purchase or a refi, go to at least 3 different places no matter what your credit is. I am willing to bet that 2 people will be at least a 1/2 point off from eachother on the
same program. Some LO's are greedy and need to make 10k on a loan. Not every LO has access to every program regardless of what they tell you.

I feel bad for these people who got burnt. People get burnt everyday by huge companies. Do your research. Refinancing is even more important than a purchase loan because so many more factors come into play. I hate seeing people get beat, so do your research. I dont know what I would do if I lost my home. My heart goes out to you.

Lastly,

Does anyoe know if it is true that Ameriquest wont price out anything less thatn 105.5?? Is that including closing costs and junk fees?? That is just crazy if its true.

Boooooyackasha. Here me now

You should be more than sued! You should do jail time for working for Ameriquest and being aware of the deceitful practices going on and not turning them in while you were on the inside.

Are you trying to say that others around you were committing these wrongful and illegal activities and you still kept working there? And the only reason you are not working there and are now "telling the truth" is because you got laid off?

I don't feel a damned bit sorry for you. I hate you and every other a*****e that works or ever has worked for those thieving bastards. I am glad that you are f**king miserable. I hope it gets worse for you and you lose your home and wind up in the street.

The bastards retaliate every chance they get and I say go for it sick f**ks cause what goes around comes around and they are due.

You brag about how you treated your customers. You are such an a*****e. You make me sick. I find it hard to believe you even confessed to the horrible things you have done to hard working people who only needed a loan to consolidate some debt. My God, you are the most disgusting piece of human s**t I've ever encountered. You, along with all your other idiotic co-workers, oh, I mean ex-employees of this unreputable company are now feelin' what you've been dealing out to others. As I said before, boo f**kin h*o.

Why should you care if we, the customers, get screwed? Because you will get yours. Oh wait, you just did! Yaha! It's about time you ignorant b*****d. I have a job but I can sleep at night. I know I don't screw people day by day. You obviously don't have a conscience. Well, of course you don't, you workED at the high and mighty Ameritheft, home of the lying, theiving and characterLESS so called reps.

d**n, I so hate you got laid off right at the holidays. NOT! Now you know how it feels. Don't you now feel like an Ameriquest customer? I think it's hilarious that you, at one time, found it funny to screw people, and now you have gotten bent over royally. Woohoo! Hope you can't, I mean can get another job but I doubt it. I've heard companies are turning away ex-employees of scumbag Ameriquest because they know you are worthless, lyin', stealing, no conscience whatsoever idiots.

Guess your "American Dream" didn't get financed by this rotten company. Well, you shouldn't be surprised since they treat their customers like s**t. Why should you be treated differently? Actually, you should be treated far worse since you were in on the fraudulent practices of this screwed up company. Bummer for you!

Merry Christmas!

I have a few friends who work/worked in natick, wellesley, braintree, woburn and wakefield branches for Christine (I think thats who it was). A few of them tried to convince me to work there because I had some tech sales experience and they thought I would make a ton of cash (they prob would have got something for bringing me in.) I was offered a job early last year and I am so glad I didn't take it, knowing what I know now about the company. I just recently looked this up because I heard about all the layoffs on the news. I am glad I didnt because I am sure that I would have been out of a job after what happened last week. I kind of breathed a sigh of relief when I read it. If all of what I am reading on this sight is true, I don't know how these people sleep at night....
The whole mortgage industry seems shady as a whole. I am glad my guy was honest with me when he did mine. Bait and switch is everywhere, not just ameri. Sorry to hear about your misfortune and good luck in the future

Did they close the Quincy office??
How many people in Mass got layed off? (I am sure a few people I know are jobless!!!!)
What branches in Mass Closed down?
Are any of the branch managers or that lady Christine in trouble for anything??
How did they fire you?? Did they just tell you to leave that day or did they give you a few weeks?? How many loans did they make you close a month?
Did they give out any severance, or did they just sever heads.
