I originally attempted a refi with these idiots to obtain enough money to put a new roof on my house and pay off a couple of small outstanding bills. It took over 3 months for them to get me complete paperwork.

The first time I went to the closing all of my numbers had completely changed. I am in Minnesota calling CA and the loan officer couldn't be found. Hiding?? I told them to get their f@*%=#g numbers right and they could call me when were.

Second time at closing, 2 days later, I had to fight with them for another 2 hours to get the numbers right. They disbursed 1/2 of the money for the roof and told me they would give me the balance when the job actually started. The roof was to start 4 days later and when I called them and told them I needed the second half of the roofers money they told me, and I'll quote, "Oh, we had to change your numbers again to put the loan through and now there is no more money to disburse." I made numerous calls in an attempt to straighten this all out but it was a nightmare and I would have gotten more help and response out of the dead. They finally quit taking or returning my phone calls.

HELLO! Now tell me exactly which half of the f@**+#g roof was I suppose to have done? Left half? Right half? I immediately went to my atty who told me it would probably cost $6,000 to get back $5750. They stole $5750 from me and no one cared.

Had they not been in California I would have "gone postal" on them.

Alright, that's it Sounded great initially

I've worked in the mortgage industry for some time now, and just the other day, a friend who I used to work in sales with called me up and told me that he'd just gotten a job with Ameriquest, and that I would make a lot more money if I jumped onboard. Apparently, another who we used to work with is making like $23,000 a month there. Sounded great initially.

However, I am a very ethical person, and I thought I remembered hearing some bad things about Ameriquest before, so I decided to check this site, among other things, before calling the manager for a job. Boy am I glad that I did. My friend has been flown out to Minneapolis this week for training, and I'm very relieved that I didn't put myself to that kind of trouble just to find all of this out.

The things described about what Ameriquest does to people's lives are appalling. This is the worst level of unethical that I can imagine! I'm tired of hearing about how no government agency, and no lawyers are able to do anything to help the victims of this scam.

Honestly, I'm glad I know all of this, because if I'd ever used Ameriquest to refi my house and they pulled this s**t on me, I would probably go down to their office and murder both my agent and his/her branch manager with a 12 gauge to the head. Anybody working for a company that would do such things deserves nothing less.

Get your HUD

Sounds like a nightmare, before calling an attorney and spending even more money for that, try calling the corporate office & make a complaint with them. Get your contract, your HUD statement, get proof of the disbursements to you, and get a contact at corporate to send it to, but NEVER send your originals, send them a copy of the originals only. There is no way they can legally pull that off, especially if it is in writing. Stop talking to the idiots in that CA office & go to the corporate office. There are several offices in CA, also the corporate office is in CA. Their number is 714-541-9960. Call them.

WOW! check your Hud settlement

This has GOT to be a new low for Ameriquest. But it wouldn't surprise me. Like Shaun said, check your Hud settlement (although, the ones YOU get versus the ones on file are not always the same). WHY ISN'T GOVERNMENT STOPPING THIS COMPANY! I am really sorry you are having to go through this, but you will only help the rest of us Ameriquest victims to spread the word. Get an attorney, one who will work on a contingency if you can....don't let them get away with it.

gather your paperwork, see a lawyer, I believe you have legal recourse

At closing, you should have signed a federal note disclosure, a security agreement, a HUD-1, and some other paperwork. The important one in this case is the HUD. The HUD-1 should have the list of fees and the disbursement details. Review it and make sure that they still owe you money according to the details. The forms that you signed are the ones that you are obligated to, and that the lender is obligated to provide. Once they are signed, there is no "changing the numbers", you have signed a legal contract. If they try to get you to sign new forms with new terms, DO NOT SIGN THEM. CONSULT A LAWYER IMMEDIATELY. And if you haven't signed anything yet, DON'T.
