Complaint Review: Ameriquest

I worked as a notary signing agent for approximately 2 years. During this time, Ameriquest had become the only company whom I decided in good conscience I could no longer sign loans for. It came to my attention on several occassions this company was unscupulous! I do not know of anyone at this company personally but time after time of having someone tell me in spanish "why am I forced to refinance every year?" and of course they have pre-payment penalties and tons of inflated charges!

Several times I would point out their APR's, their interest rates, their HUD, fees, prepayment penalty because I felt it was important they knew what they signed and it was easily more than 80% of the time people who had loans from Ameriquest were shocked and even times when they cancelled the loans or called the agents in the middle of the signing to ask about these ridiculous charges and the agents would tell them .. oh its just the way it has to be on the paperwork .. I give you my word this will change, you will be refunded etc. -- my advise would be .. if its not in writing, don't sign and finally decided I would no longer sign for Ameriquest in good conscience, I would forgo my money and tell the borrowers NOT to sign and that they were getting ripped off. I may have lost business but was able to sleep at night and doubt many of them could do the same.
