Complaint Review: Ameritech

Ameritech Internet Services, ruining small business, slower, less reliable and more expensive.

Ameritech Chicago has been unable to correct an address problem in their computer system regarding the address of my business. When I call to get high speed internet access, every service provider I have called says that they are not able to locate our account information in Ameritech's database.

Ameritech has entered the wrong suite number in the billing records that are available to outside vendors. Because Ameritech business lines are charged per minute for every single call, I have been racking up thousands of dollars in fees just by sending / recieving email, and accessing the internet. AND AMERITECH REFUSES TO ADJUST MY BILL TO COMPENSATE FOR THEIR ERROR.

The only way for us to get high speed service now is to get it through Ameritech, and it's slower, less reliable and more expensive. All these charges, and a busy signal while we are e-mailing are costing us untold amounts of business. Besides, as of no it's a matter of principle, and I wouldn't take their service if it was only $1 a month.

This phone company strongarms people. The irony is that I'm being charged to file this report.
