415 901-1680 continued to keep harrassing me about fixing my bad credit. When they asked for my banking account information I was concerned immediately. They were to withdraw $200 from my account to appove me for a $2000 credit card. When I then asked her to send me email info. to submit my bank information she claimed she could send it to me and hung-up on me! Without asking me for my email address!

For as many people that are being harrassed and ripped off by this scam I wish that our government will take some action and trace this phone number and indict these free loading sob's. Continuing a blog such as this will accomplish what?

Hi,
You have the wrong Ameritrust. The company you are complaining about is Ameritrust Financial out of Dunedin, FL.

The company in Charlotte, NC is Ameritrust Mortgage. We are strictly a mortgage company and do not have anything to do with credit cards.

What I want to address, specifically, is her question about continuing a blog such as this will accomplish what?.

Well, to INFORM CONSUMERS, that's what.

As for what can be done about a scam company, it all begins with YOU.

It seems that many people think Ripoff Reports is supposed to DO SOMETHING for them. I don't know why, because that is not stated anywhere that I am aware of, that this site will TAKE CARE of scams and ripoffs. Ripoff Report HAS done things to help, but that is not their stated mission, nor is it implicit upon them TO do anything.

It all begins with YOU. What have you done to stop this company? If you don't know where to start, look up articles about consumer rights, the Federal Trade Commission website, Consumer Reports, for a few ideas.

As for the government tracing a number to indict this company, again, have you reported them to a governmental agency? The government has to know something exists before they can do anything.

If you HAVE reported them, WAY TO GO!!!! That's a start! No, the government won't do anything about a single complaint of this nature, but when if it should build to a measurable degree, then yes, something could be done.

I am not speaking on behalf of Ripoff Reports, in any way. I am just giving my opinion of what I believe this website is all about. I hope it never goes away!!! I am unable to do so at this time, but I have donated in the past, and I know I will, again, when I am able.

Change has to start with each individual person assuming responsibility. If a website is found where they DO offer to resolve issues for you, if they're asking for money - I'd come here first!
