Ameritrust Financial offered a $2,000.00 Credit Line with an 8.9% annual interest rate, with no annual fee after giving them a $200.00 deposit.

The $200.00 deposit was to be issued back via 4 "Official Payment Vouchers." These vouchers were to be used instead of a personal check for making payments on account.

The Ameritrust Financial card was to be used to purchase merchandise via www.ameritrustshop.com or through through their catalog, which I never received. However, I did recieve 9 "Official Payment Vouchers," instead of 4.

I thought there must be some mistake, and tried contacting them via the only customer service number given. This number no longer existed, nor their fax number.

I have procrastinated on following up on this for almost a year, but the Ameritrust Financial "Credit Builder Card" is supposedly good through 2010.

This is the first time I have ever been scammed by a company. I usually hang up immediately when being solicited over the phone, but for some reason decided to listen that day.

The customer service rep. promised this would be an excellent way to build my credit. I was hurting financially at the time, and reluctant to give the $200.00 deposit, but thought this would come in handy at Christmas when extra cash is always needed.

Is there no way to get the $200.00 deposit back? There must be some way this company has to pay back the money that was scammed. This is soooo wrong.
