I was contacted by Ameritrust Financial on my cell phone offering me a major credit card to assist in building my credit. I released my personal information along with my bank account number for a major credit card line of $2000, or so it seemed. Four installments of $50.00 for a total of $200.00 was the agreement made to be withdrawn from my account.

The first debit of $50 would take place, when the first transaction/purchase was made when utilizing the credit card. An electronic check for the whole amount of $200.00 was debited from my bank on November 22, 2006. By researching and reading about Ameritrust, I realized that they were not a major credit card company.

I have tried calling the company numerous times to cancel the credit card and to receive a refund but only an answering machine has been available. I left messages, too. I since then contacted the Better Business Bureau and placed a complaint. I am stunned at the amount of people this company has scammed and will continue to do so.

I have also placed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission and since then received notice that states that the Federal Trade Commission acts in the public interest to stop business practices that violate the laws it enforces... It goes on by basically saying that for something to be done several individuals need to complain in order for the FTC to begin an investigation. Please take time and make you voice heard and maybe something can be done to stop Ameritrust Financial's scheming and deceiving the public.

In deed I have received the activation letter which I have chosen not to sign since by signing it, I would be agreeing to all terms and conditions. I am not activating the account and would like my $200 reimbursement. The letter clearly states that by calling and releasing the electronic code, I would be signing the letter and agreeing to all your terms. I am not calling and releasing such code, and be tricked into activating an account that is no used to me. Again, I have not heard the recording myself, however I am pleading for Ameritrust to show a bit of compromising to resolve the issue. If you could be so kindly to inform me the procedure needed for a reimbursement of $200 from Ameritrust without activating the account. Its silly to me that I have to activate the account to cancel, doesn't makes since. I am not interested in the vouchers or any aspect of your services at this time.

Thank you,

Benjamin

You know we were actually able to cross reference through another system we have here and found out that this account belongs to Benjamin.

After pulling up his recorded verification this is exactly what he agrees to. His ver# is 4993560 and on the recording he agrees to pay the $200 deposit on 11-22-06. He agrees to all terms and conditions of the Ameritrust Financial Merchant Catalog Finance account with a clear, yes. Not only was but 3 times stating he clearly understands.

Now, we have already sent the acceptance letter and his card out to him, and even gave him $300 in payment vouchers so when he recieves his statement he will have $300 in merchandise already paid for.

We had already sent out his letter 3 days after he signed up and he should have recieved it through the mail. However it comes in a plain white envelope and sometimes people will throw it away thinking it is more junk mail. We are not saying that is what happened here, but it is a possibility.

We have followed through on our end.

Mr. Bejamin can go ahead use up his vouchers and if he wants to cancel after that point he certainly can.

Sincerely,

Ameritrust Customer Service
