AMEX Movers No Shows moving ripoff Los Angeles California
I hired AMEX Movers 4 weeks in advance of a local move in San Francisco. They had told me they would arrive between 8-10am on the day of the move. I waited all morning and no one showed up or called. I tried calling several times and finally reached someone at 10:15am, I was told that the truck didn't start. I asked why no one contacted me and received no reasonable response. I asked if they would be able to get another truck out and I was told probably not today.
I was forced to hire a different moving company for a same day move and paid a premium. I contacted AMEX Movers on 4 occassions requesting a refund of my $100 deposit and I never received a call or email back.
I am currently considering legal action against AMEX Movers in order to prevent them from doing this kind of thing to anyone else.

I'm in the exact same situation with the $100 deposit (I wish they didn't show up).
I've spoken with several people with this company - in case you haven't noticed they love to screen phone calls so block your number or use a different phone. Here's the number for their so-called account department 877-239-4665, ask for Lisa.
I've been calling them at least twice a day, EVERYDAY for the past 2 and a half weeks - never once have they called me back. I finally got the number for accounting and she's just as bad. On my 5th or 6th time calling her, she says "I just pulled up your file and will take care of it now. I'll call you back with an authorization number." Never called. I called the next day and surprisingly no one picked up, like I said they love to screen their phone calls. Had my husband call and she claims she hasn't gotten the file yet. Out of anger, I yelled she just had it in front of her face the day before and now she does? She supposedly did the transaction and have us an authorization number..... 5 days later, STILL no money. Called every number I can find online (they have several) and each one of them says they'll look into it and call me back. We'll see how it goes.
Hope this helps you out. My husband and I are also thinking about taking them to small claims.
