I ordered 4 gold coins for which I paid $3,850.78.  However, when package arrived on Saturday, 13th of September 2014 I opened it and found only 3 gold coins.  Furthermore, only 2 coins were the kind and size I ordered.  The third coin was only  ½  oz American Eagle Gold coin instead of the 1 oz coin.  The missing coin was also 1 oz American Gold Eagle.

I tried to call about that issue but the phone number listed on the website Bankofbullion.com is only for sales and I was told that there is no way to speak by phone with somebody about the issue with the content of the package.  The only way is to contact them via their website using my account.

So I sent first complaint just after noon on that Saturday, saying that I found only 3 coins instead of the 4.  At that time I did not have my reading glasses nor could I recognize by size that American Gold Eagle coin was only ½ oz size.  Later that afternoon I examined the coins more closely and found the size.  So I sent my second complaint that evening.

The first response from Bankofbullion was on Monday, 15th of September about 9:30 am that I should send back what was incorrect and that they in the meantime examined the shipment.

By the end of the day I did not get any other response.  Finally,  on Tuesday, 16th of September, at 9:15 am they came back with: “After investigation we find that your order was shipped complete and you received what you ordered.  First you claim that everything is OK except that 1 coin was missing.  Then you claim that the size is wrong.  Your conflicting claims don’t make sense.  If you decided to make a claim to gain something it won’t work.”

After that I tried again to tell them that I am a reputable, retired engineer from Cummins Inc. and there is no way that I would try to gain something like that, that I could send them a pictures of the coins so they can see that one coin is only ½ oz size, pleaded to them to let me speak with someone in management but all that did not result in any success.

About two weeks ago I wrote a letter to Mr. Gary D. Gruenberg, VP at AMG Assets Inc explaining him the whole situation.  However, the letter was never delivered since nobody picked it up.

Basically I paid for the two 1 oz Gold Eagle Coins $2,669.86 and received only on ½ oz Gold Eagle coin which makes about $2,000 loss for me.

My original claims stand.  Several other people reported similar loss caused by either  Bankofbullion .com or AMG Assets.  My compalins to several agencies in Florida were not successful since those agencies could not reach anybody to talk to about my case.  The certified letter was never accepted by AMG assets nor by Gary Gruenberg.  The fact is still the same, instead of two Gold Eagle 1 oz coins I received only one 1/2 oz Gold Eagle coin.

i can put my reputation anytime anywhere against the one of Mr. Gruenburg.  I was cheated by online gold scammers for $2,000.

it was expensive lesson for me: never deal with any business which is not accredited by BBB and has a very good rating.

Afterwards I bought several 1 oz Gold Eagle coins through Amazon.com which guaranties money back if the coin is not as described ( and of course if the gold coin is not right size or if it is missing!).

finally, how strange is that Mr. Gruenberg is responding to my initial report after more than 5 months.

Unsubstantial Shortage Claim

This client made 3 different claims to us on the same day on the same shipment even claiming exceptions on products that were not even ordered from us.  First the item was short then it was received but a different size.  Finally again the client claimed the item was not received and a different item not ordered was received.  Wow can this guy get his story together?
