Recently I had problems with my 1988 Isuzu Trooper that I use only fishing and I am very much attached to this vehicle. During one of my trips my transmission gave out on me and I had a friend tow me back home. The first name that pops in my mind was AAMCO.

I called them up (July 13, 2007) and I talk to Jim also owner of business, and told him about the problem. He told me no problem he pick up the vehicle and have it fix in no time. Not knowing where the shop was located i agree for them to pick up my vehicle. First week they had my vehicle I called them and asked the status of my vehicle, they told me they had to order some gears that had broken that I was looking at around $800 to fix.

Second week I gave them a call and they told something else was either worn of defective, that it would take a few more days. Finally a few days later Hector the technician called me and told me that the vehicle was ready. I looked at the bill and I almost fainted it came up to $1500 and I told them why they had not called me to let me know it was going to take this much extra to get it fix. He told me that he had assumed that i said to fix it. I had no choice but to pay the $1500. I notice 5th gear was kind of hard to engage so i drove it home thinking it would loosen up a little.

Like i said i only use this vehicle for fishing. It was over ten day and under 30 miles since i took it out of the shop that I notice that when I put my vehicle on 4X4 low gear that it would not engaged. I call Jim back and told him about the problem, he told me not to worry that it was on the warranty and they would fix it.

I took it back and I waited for one week I would call they did not have the part in. Second and third week I called and they tell me the same thing they could not get the right part.

The fourth week the same runaround but this time Hector the technician had told me that 2 of his technicians had quit. I talked to Jim earlier and he told me that two technician were on vacation and were short on help.

Finally today August 16, 2007) I decided to approach Jim and asked him I was willing to wait another two weeks if he promise me to fix my vehicle. He told me "no" I just have to wait till they got the right part in or for me to take my vehicle the way it is. I told him to give me half of the money I paid and I would take the vehicle, he started to yell at me and told me he give me $200 to take the vehicle as is.

Then he got really upset and told me if I was deaf to read his lips that he would only give me $400 and to take the vehicle as is. I asked him if he would put it back and I could drive it out, he told me no to take it as is. And he started yelling at me they would put back the transmission and I could drive it home and park it till they got the part in. I got upset and left. He was very rude and threatening.
