AMR - American Medical Responce I was profiled by AMR, a bill was sent dirrect to collection, I was never Billed,I shouldn't have been billed. Waterbury Connecticut
Two years ago , a tenant of mine called the police , and said I was going crazy. She had beed drinking and on drugs. police came to my home, found me taking out the trash. The police department of Waterbury Connecticut called AMR to give me a ride to hospital, for drug tests .
I walked into ambulance , sat down for the mile ride to hospital, got up and walked into hospital , was held there overnight for drug testing , No drugs were found , I don't do drugs.
I did not think about getting a bill for the taxi ride from AMR ( i don't know what it was all about ) ?? the police could have driven me there , they followed the ambulance there, and the police went in with me when i walked out of the ambulance , and walked into the hospital with me. I thought this was a city service,like the fire department, who came to my house , when the tenant who called the police on me eventually set my house on fire.
I contacted AMR when I was buying a new truck in march of 2007 , and was denided a loan, I sent for a credit report and has no idea what AMR was. I googled it , I called AMR to find out who they were , and what this bill was .
When I called AMR I was told "there is no law that says they have to send a bill , it's up to me to know I owe them money and pay" This was the same thing the first collection company said. Two weeks later when I called again , to see why they had not sent me an original bill yet . Both company's said they had sent many bills out , and I never responded . not true , I have gotton no bill from ether company yet sept.4th 2007.
I have worked for the same company 35 years , I have very good insurance , which would have payed the bill in full.
to this day I have never got a bill from AMR , or the original collection co.
I beleave because I live in the ghetto area of town , and was all dirty when police picked me up , that the people of AMR did not think i had a job or owned a house , and they sent the bill dirrectly to collection , thinking they would not get paid .
I did not give AMR my S.S. number , I don't know where they got it , but they should have gotton my insurance information , when they asked somebody for my s.s.number.
How and why would I pay a Bill without ever seeing an invoice or bill , and not even knowing there was one.
It was me who contacted the collection co. who had no information about me , untill I gave it to them ,Same for AMR.

To this day Nov. 6th 2007 , I have not been sent an original bill OR ANY BILL ,from american medical responce, ALSO I HAVE NOT BEEN SENT AN ORIGINAL BILL , OR ANY BILL FROM AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCES COLLECTION CO. BECAUSE THERE IS NO ORIGINAL BILL TO BE SENT. LIKE I SAID I CONTACTED AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCE WHEN I SAW AMR ON MY CREDIT REPORT , I HAD TO GOOGLE AMR TO FIND OUT WHAT IT WAS . THERES MORE THAN ONE AMBULANCE COMPANY IN WATERBURY , IT'S A SMALL TOWN, THEY COULD HAVE MAILED ME A BILL , BUT THEY DID NOT ,BECAUSE THE FACTS ARE , THEY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH INSURANCE COMPANIES ,COLLECTING THERE FEE , (GOOGLE IT ).. IF THEY HAD SENT A BILL MY INSURANCE WOULD HAVE PAID , THEY SENT IT TO COLLECTION BECAUSE OF WHERE THEY PICKED ME UP, AND WHAT I LOOKED LIKE , AT THE TIME, DRIVERS SURE CAN TALK UP A STORM ABOUT WHO THEY PICK UP, AND WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE . CAN'T TAKE AWAY THE FACT AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCE OF WATERBURY CONNECTICUT DID NOT BILL ME , AND NEVER BEEN GIVEN TAXI RIDE IN A VAN BEFORE THAT WAS ORDERED BY A CITY EMPLOYEE , HOW WOULD I KNOW I AM SUPPOSE TO PAY ? AND WHERE TO SEND THE MONEY , IF I DID . I WAS NOT BILLED BECAUSE OF WHAT I LOOKED LIKE ,AND THE AREA WHERE I LIVE .
IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE , THAN PROVE .....AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCE THAT YOU SENT A BILL ....... AS YOU SAID ,,, YOU SENT MANY BILLS , BUY MY INSURANCE CO. SAYS YOU NEVER FILED A CLAIM . IT WAS 100% COVERED , IF I WAS BILLED . YOU AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCE JUST GET A THRILL OUT OF BEING PISSY ON THE PHONE , AND YOU COLLECTION CO. YOU USE IS ALSO PISSY ,AND DOES NOT HAVE THE FACTS .
WHY DON'T THEY HAVE A COPY OF THE ORIGINAL BILL ? THERE IS NOT ONE , THATS WHY , SOMEONE JUST WANTED A ESY WAY OUT TO CLOSE UP THERE PART OF THERE JOB , SENDING MY BILL I NEVER GOT , WAS THER WAY TO FINISH THERE END OF IT , AND THAN FORGET ABOUT IT , WHILE THEY RUIN MY CREDIT ,AND THINK NOTHING OF IT . HOW VERY SAD OF AMERICAN MEDICAL RESPONCE ,AND THE PEOPLE THAT HAVE TO WORK THERE.

Here's the deal, you were baker acted. Its required you go to the medical facility by ambulance, furthermore you should have had a pysch eval which i don't think you mentioned. anyways, after your 72 hour baker act is up you go home if they deem you ok to do so. The bill or charge to your name is nothing new, ambulance rides are not free, if you do not wish to give your SSN to AMR that still subjects you to any billing they desire, AMR is a private ambulance company. Its very easy to get any info on you once you have been baker acted.
If you feel like your privacy has been violated i would suggest looking into the HIPAA laws and talking to the government, HIPAA is very strict on people's information. Furthermore, being profiled is highly unlikely due to the fact that the ambulance crew has NOTHING to do with the actual billing end of it, their job is to treat you and obtain information, thats all, please don't be paranoid and don't give EMS officals a bad name because you think your being targeted.
