Thanks for sharing this swindle with the rest of us. I will certainly put that telemarketing group on my phone-slamming list.
It sounds like this long distance carrier slammed you. It's illegal in addition to being unethical.
First, contact your credit card company and file a fraud complaint to receive a charge back. Let the credit card company know that you were slammed.
Second, contact your long distance phone company you had before the slam and get yourself switched back.
Third, report them to your state's attorney general's office.
Fourth, go the extra mile and report them to your local newspaper so they can put a consumer watch alert out on this phone-slamming scheme.
