AMR Long Disatnce ripoff victimized many consumers Carlsbad California
I got my bank statement the other day and found 2 charges for $48.79. I called the bank and was told that it was a long distance company. I have a cell phone with free long distance, so I know I didn't sign up for this.
I called the number listed above and finally got through to someone. They told me that I had ordered something on the internet that there was a box that should have been un-checked if I didn't want a free calling card. After she explained what happened she said she'd credit my acount for both charges and it would been done in 3 - 10 business days. I then received an email confirming our conversation and that the credits to my account would be made by the next billing cycle.
I am not sure how this works, but be careful when you order something online....This can happen to ANYONE!!!
