Complaint Review: AMS Legal Group

In May I was contacted by a company who asked me about my mortgage rate. My mortgage is really high. They said they can help me with my rate. They said with all the new laws like HARP they can work with my mortgage company to cut my mortgage rate in half. 

I said I was interested and they asked a lot of questions regarding my situation. Again I said I was interested. They emailed my a bunch of documents that I had to fill out around my financial situation as well as paystubs, taxes, etc... I have heard of scams so I was a little scared to continue but it was very professional. They used a docusafe website where you can upload and digitally sign documents. 

I asked if I should continue to make my mortgage payments (I was not late with any of my payments). They advised me not to waste my money with that rate that once the loan is modified the missed payments would be put on the back of the loan. 

Now this was in May of 2015. 

I paid them two payments of $1747.50 for their services. 

During the first two months I would receive email and phone calls weekly. Then about two months went by and I recevied nothing. I tried to email 3 or 4 people I have dealt with no luck. After leaving messages I go a call from a Aileen Slichal (don't know if that is how you spell her name). She said that someone in processing will be in touch with me. A few days someone did call me back and they asked for me to send them all the paperwork that I sent them a few months ago again as they needed up to date documentation. 

After that I would get a call once a week where the person would say there is no status in my modification. It has now been a month and I have not heard from anyone. I try to call every number that I have and it is either busy or disconnected. The only number that works is this Aileen Slichal person but it goes right to voice mail and she has not called me back. 

It is now September 2015 and I have missed 5 mortgage payments and I just received a forclosure letter. 

All I wanted to do is try to get my mortgage rate (which is a very high 9%) lowered and now I feel like I have been scammed.

If anyone knows who AMS Legal Group is or how I can get my money back I would really appreciate it.
