AMVETSAMVETS Thrift Store Price increases at the register at time of sale Fresno California
On 7 Aug 09 I went to the AMVETS to pick up some type of inexpensive container to soak my feet in. I found an item that was designed for just that, with some type of vibrator attachment. The handle was broken, and the control knob was missing, so I assumed it didn't work. however they had a tag on it that said it had been "water tested" and passed. If it would hold water, that was all I needed. The price on the printed ticket on the item clearly showed .95 (95 cents for a container to simply soak my feet in).
At the register the girl looked at it and said "that's not the right price - that should be at least $5.00" I said "no way, for something missing parts" - and she snapped at me "thats right, $5.95 - that's the way it is".
Not only was the price increased by 500 percent at the point of sale, but all 3 of the cashiers present were rude and sharp (and being that way with all customers present)
If this company is going to continue to rip people off and break the law, they need to be shut down....they are only helping certian "ethnic groups" in Fresno to start with. Not one white person in the building (other than buying stuff). My donations to them have STOPPED.
