AMW Events/ Billy Houltz AMW Events and the "owner" Billy Houltz = SCAM! Rancho Cucamonga, California
Wow. I don't know where to start. I am a Bonita high school graduate as of June 7 2012. I was so excited to finally get to experience adult life for the first time. After searching on craigslist for internships and jobs while recieving rejection emails from Subway, Target..etc I finally got a call back from a "company" I have never heard of.
As naive and excited as I was I did not hesitate in making an appointment for an interview. After being called back to do the second interview I was given an address to go to. After reaching my destination which was in the middle of a street out in Riverside, I was confused and worried that I was not going to make it on time. After calling the receptionist and telling her my situation and that I failed at arriving at the "event" as they called it, she told me I had to go to the AM/PM Arco.
It wasnt long until I was officially hired. My first day of work was when I realized that we would be driving to "events" as far as Victorvill and Tamecula to as close as Rialto. The working conditions were horrible.
I had to work 6 days out of the week. 9 to 10 hrs on the weekday and 10 to 12 hours on the weekend. After quiting after the first week i finally got my paycheck. I put in 56 hours and got paid $56.01. i basically got paid $1 an hour. The craigslist ad that i replied to claimedd that i would recieve $400-$700 a week. My group leader said $300. My manager said $50 a day and Billy "the boss" said commission. I made $53 in comission the thursday after i sterted working. ???
I will never forget the phonecall i got from Billy Houltz the day i quit. He said that degraded my character, called me unproffesional, said how La Verne (the city I reside in) is just as bad as Rialto and Riverside and then smirked about my parents' jobs. According to him "If you are not your own boss, and work under or for someone, you are unsuccessful".
The day after I quit I got a 2 job offers. This time I will be working for a legit company and most importantly a proffesional and legit boss :D
