I found this job posting on Craigslist that sounded very appealing. I had just moved to the High Desert area, and it was difficult to find a job. This seemed like a promising opportunity. The posting read as follows, "Customer Service Reps are needed to travel throughout the IE to work on Racing Promotions & Sports Events. No Experience Needed- Full Paid Training". I responded with my resume, and was called back quickly for an interview.

I interviewed, got called back for a second interview within a few days. They told me that I would be working at "local events" which equated to selling car wax to people at ARCO gas stations. Not my idea of an event! When hired, they told me it was an 8-5 job were I would work Mon.-Sat. Within a few weeks they were expecting me to work 12 hour shifts, with no breaks! When I would leave at 6 pm, they would talk down to me and tell me I didn't have the "drive" to do this job. That if I had to, I should stay until midnight to make my "goals".

I was told that if my commission equaled to less than minimum wage for the week, that I would be paid minimum wage for that week. When I got my paycheck for working over 50 hours in a week, it was $177. This means they were paying me about $3.50 an hour!!!! Luckily I figured out the scam 2 weeks after being hired!

Do not believe this company's promise of "6 figure incomes". Billy Holtz, the so called owner, manager, etc. is listed on many reports dating back to 2007 for ripping people off. All of the guys that work in the Victorville office share one house. Why would they need to do this on a "six figure income"?
