In 2004 Hurricane Charlie damaged the roof on our building in downtown Orlando. ANC Construction (one of their names before bankrupcy) had done some work at my house. Even getting roofers to call you back then was a problem so I called ANC. He inspected the roof, told me we should leave the old roof on and roof over it (I found out later is incorrect). 5 months later (shortage of material) we had a new roof and paid him $192,000. The leaks started within 1 year. He sent people out every time but the leaks continued. When I pressed the issue, he told me is cracker jack crew (my words not his) were in West Palm Beach, he'd send them up to Orlando. They spent 1/2 a day here, said everything was fixed and left, it wasn't fixed.

For a while I'll couldn't get a hold of him. When I finally did he apologized, thought the european roofing company he had hired knew what they were doing (first I heard they weren't his crew) and sent me a copy of his bankrupcy and said there's no point in contacting him, there's nothing he can do.

I have an engineering report outlining what was done incorrectly. I have an estimate to "patch" and correct issues, $172,000 and another to replace (and do it propery) the roof for $380,000.

You be the judge.
