Ancestry.com ripoff Provo Utah
Ancestry.com is a total ripoff, I signed up for the trial canceled before my trial and they took out $99.50 out of my account which part of it was going toward my rent now I can't pay my rent. I tried to cancel on the phone like the website said and they told me they have no record of me canceling and they cannot cancel it because it's past the trial now. What a joke.

The bottom line with this is that if you DID in fact call to cancel- you will be able to get your money back. At ancestry the computer automatically keeps a record of every call made. Also when a customer calls to cancel they are given a confirmation number as a receipt. It is very unlikely that a mistake would be made with this kind of system. It is NOT impossible though. There is a chance that a glitch was made in your case- If you think so then call the number again and ask to speak with a supervisor. The refund policy is strict at ancestry- but I have known them to be very willing to work with customers to make exceptions.

The first link us an email address for the Attorney General of TX. Send him an email about your complaint. File a dispute with your credit card company. Tell them, don't ask that you want to file a dispute over this charge. See the second link below about this. The third link has FTC, BBB, and many other places to complain if you wish.
