I bought a female French Bulldog for my wife on 11/23/10 from Anderly Chanson aka 'Angie' & her partner, Morgan Baker. After negotiating the price for an AKC registered puppy, I asked about the paperwork before taking the pup home. They claimed that the paperwork was in the mail & it would be forwarded to us when received. For a period of a few months, I would text her once/month asking about the paperwork. She would just apologize each time saying they were frustrated as well. Hmm.

After a few months, I discovered that she changed phone numbers & decided to make the hour drive to their home. They lived in a rural home in the country (Bastrop, TX) where the driveway is only accessible via a locked gait. I left a written note to give me a call, but no one ever did. It was a couple of months later that I saw one of their online ads with the new phone number. I called & reached Morgan. He apologized for the 6 MONTH delay & blamed the AKC. It appeared that the dog registry requested DNA of their dogs due to the frequent breedings. He made it sound like the process to DNA their dogs was expensive & they were trying to round up the funds.

So I contacted the AKC. They said there were no current complaints against the breeders, but would look into it. They asked for a copy of the contract, ad, etc. I sent in what we had. A couple weeks later, they said that they attempted to get in contact with both Angela & Morgan to no avail. We basically were out of luck with getting AKC paperwork. My advice is this - never leave a breeder's premises without registration papers or at least hold back some of the payment until it's received.
