Five years ago, I refinanced my car using Andrews FCU. For the first four years, the payment was directly taken out of my military check, so it was always on time. This past year - year and 1/2, I was late a couple times because I was trying to get back on my feet after getting out of the military. I still made my payments, just some (over this past year) were late.

These people will try and repossess your car in half a heartbeat! They tried to repossess it a year ago when I was late on a payment, but I was able to borrow the lump sum they were demanding. My car was supposed to be paid off this month. I was running late again waiting for my GI bill to come in so I could pay it. They sent a letter to my parents saying that the remaining amount was late and was due today. They claimed to have continously tried to contact me (which I have no record of). My mom was going to pick up any $ I didn't have until my next check.

I had a 3 month extension on my payment dates; meaning if I couldn't make a payment, it would be added to the end and I would just have a car note a month extra. Ii had not been three months and they still demanded payment in full. The letter contained the amount I owed by today. My mom said she would call for me. I got a call from her this morning saying that they had added on $1100 to the last two payments I owed! If I didn't come up with a grand total of $1600 w/ a mere couple hours notice to come up with it and no explaination, they would repossess my car (even though I had the $ to finish paying the notes I owed). These people show no loyalty, regardless how many notes you pay on time. Once your car is almost paid for, they will try and repossess it at the slightest inconvenience.

I don't know if this is every bank or just mine. Either way, it does not seem right.
