Andy Esquivel and his collaborators have created a string of imaginary companies with fake products to seduce investors into paying money for worthless shares.  In most cases, the companies were never registered with the states they claimed to operate in and the named weren't even reserved.  Utah investors were duped out of at least $70,000 and Colorado investors were duped out of even more.

Phony products included:

  • a dating website that used license plates for authentication and supposedly used facial recognition to weed out sexual predators

  • an inflatable car cover that connected to your valve stems and used the air from your tires to inflate.

  • an alcoholic energy supposedly endorsed by Mother's Against Drunk Driving

  • an iPad competitor (eerily similar to a Samsung Galaxy) that used radioactive fingernail polish to allow users to type without touching the screen

  • a pair of high definition 3D glasses (the image of which was stolen from another website and obviously Photoshopped)

  • an e-cigarette line with wild accessories like mp3 players, lasers, bluetooth connections to your phone, flashlights, and a mechanism that could actually help you quit smoking

  • phone sex apps that made dating safer by allowing users to have sex pier-to-pier before going home with one another

  • a supposed STD alert website that violated every privacy law known to man, but was somehow the next big thing

  • digital internet DNA that somehow made the internet safer (nobody knows how)

  • a bluetooth internet infrastructure that would replace the internet by hopping packets across bluetooth connections instead (if you understand anything about networking, a ridiculous idea)

  • ...and many, many more.
Andy was formally charged with three felony counts of securities fraud on July 19th, 2011 and a $10,000 felony warrant has been issued for hsi arrest.  he faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted on the current charges.
