My boyfiend was out of town working and neede his ceiling remodeld and blown. He left his mother and I signed checks to take care of this for him.

He specefically told us not to pay anyone a dime until it was finished.

Needless to say, we contacted "Andy" "Raymond A. Marek Jr." Raymond G. Marek Jr." or whatever his real name is.

His add was in the Sun Herald Mr. Marek came and gave us a quote of the repairs of $600.00. We felt that he was honest and did not think that we would be swindled. He said he would need half up front, so we gave him a check for $300.00. He told us he would start the next day.

The following day he never showed. We got ahold of him on friday and he said he was on his way. He never showed. The next week and a half I tried calling. I finally talked to him and said I wanted the money back. He begged me to let him do the job and I told him no. He said he wouldn't have the money until the following week. The following week I tried to get him and couldn't. I called him the week after and got intouch with him. He said he would give me the money on monday. Needless to say I was never able to get in conact with him. But he will answer the phone if it is someone to wich he doesn't recognize the number.

I called the Ms. State Contractors Liscence Bureau and they said he is not listed.

I called the Ms. State Attornye Generals office and they want me to send a letter first to prove I have tried to settle thi myself. Which that would be fine, but the business address on the contract is invalid, the number onthe contract is out of service, and he has several names and I'm not sure wich one is right

I called the Distric Attorney's office and they told me to go to the police department and file charges of theft with the intent to defraud.

I Iwent to the police to file the charges and they wouldn't because I have a contract. They told me to file a civil suit.

I went to the court hous to file the suit and I have to have a correct address on this guy or they can't serve the summons. So now I'm screwed becaus I have 4 differnt address's and I don't know which one is correct.

This kills me that nobody wants to really help. I am to the point of beleaving that anybody can run an add in the paper and defraud and steal from people and just get away with it.
