Dr Muldoon performed surgery on a tumor in my dogs mouth. Afterwords, she informed me she left some tissue around the site and was sure there would be some cancer left in the surrounding tissue. I asked why she didn't take the tissue and made the excuse that she didn't want my dog to be uncomfortable. Excuse me?  She was already uncomfortable from the surgery.. better to get it all.  Then the so called oncologist, performed shots on her instead of taking the aggresive action of radian that would have rid her of the cancer cells for a longer period of time.   From the very beginning, my dogs needs were put off just to run up the bills on boarding etc. Knowing my dog had a form of cancer, this facility made her wait for several weeks to even see her.  Then she laid for several days in a crate waiting to be seen. These people lost her medications then tried to say I must have taken them home.  No I didn't.. What really tic's me off is my girl is the best.  She has saved me from snakes, alligators and an ex who beat me only to suffer at the hands of so called professionals.  The Oncologist had to look up the information on the internet concerning dog cancer.. and she is suppose to be the cancer specialist.  Dr. Valerius was more concerned about the money and soaking me than saving my dog. After all it was just a dog.  The very last words she said when I left her office was. "Sucks to be you".  Real professional.

You can be voted best in area by having friends and family vote. The voting lists 4 different places in each grp in the area. Most people don't even know who you are and just click to get the process going due to the survey being 20 pages long or more. Your service has as many issues as the one reported. Mosoluem type facilities are cold and uncaring except for your money or Care Credit .. anything but the animal.

This report is referring to CARE - Cincinnati Animal Referral and Emergency NOT the Animal Care Centers.
Animal Care Centers have been serving the Cincinnati area since 1980 and have been named Best Veterinarians in Cincinnati for 2 consecutive years - 2010 and 2011. We have locations in Fairfield, Forest Park, and Blue Ash. CARE's name is often confused with ours but we were here first and have no affiliation whatsoever. Thank you.

Contact by a Director

I was contacted by a Director of this facility. The contact was more of a tonque lashing than actually getting to the issues. The Director would not let me say very much of what happened. She was telling me how unpleased they were with my allegations. The Doctors all have degrees etc. and how it will be very difficult for any of their doctors to see my dog now if I should try to take her back.  She is only wanting to go by their reports. I was asked why I continued to see them if I was so unpleased. I was honest.  I do not know my way around yet being new to the area and I was referred.  Although the receptionists and doctors did not say anything in their reports as to any discussions that were negative, there were discussions.  On three - four visits I had two other adults with me and was witness to the loss of medication, the fact I was unsatisfied with my dog being left for days. I can understand emergencies. I do not understand how a time sensitive issue such as cancer can be considered a lesser issue when it is eating the life out of something.  Tell me Director, why does a Doctor come in and sit down to discuss my dogs options to stay alive then, go on to discuss her special needs child?  This was my time for my dog and my pain.  I was there for my dog. Not to hear about a Doctors woes. I can honestly say it felt as if she was more worried about her child at that moment than my dog.  It was inappropriate.  I felt sorry for her and talked to her.  I did not tell the girls at the desk how unhappy I was at that time.  I have been more than patient and asked questions to try to help my dog. Say what you want but the whole experience was not professional. Parts where, yes.  Not all of it.  To have the doctor try to make me feel guilty, when I am the one trying to help my dog, by telling me that she should have radiation when this should have been done after the surgery?  I told the Doctor I would have to think about it because I was not happy. She had just told me sucks to be you.  I was to call her back. I did not.. She called me.  I said no.. to the treatments....I would not want to take my dog back to a place where a doctor walks out of a room saying sucks to be you.  Would you? And then, you, a Director hanging up on me and not allowing me to speak.  That is very professional, too. But then sucks to be me, right?
