Ric Shaw tried to get both of us to buy expensive photographs $5500 for a three-outfit shoot with make-up. If we were immediately to pay today there would be a special discount of $4508. We felt pressured and paid for one person $496 on our credit card for a three outfit photo shoot.

We didn't sign any contract, let alone one that said that Ric can keep the money even if he doesn't fulfill his service.

On Dec 4th 2002 shortly before dusk a 10 minute photo shoot of Meg by Ric Shaw took place just out the back door in the parking lot of the agency. The result was completely unusable.

Ric offered a re-shoot, but because of the shoddy way he did the first one we declined and asked for a full refund. Ric agreed that he was not the right person to do the shots, eventually he agreed to refund the money.

Then for more than two years he sent us on a wild goose chase telling us "the owner of the company has changed - you need to talk to xyz". Eventually going back to saying he would only do a re-shoot in Baltimore, fully aware that we had moved to Los Angeles 3000 miles away and that re-shoots are unacceptable for us.

RIC: You have not delivered the second and third outfit shots!

There is no question of offering re-shoots of something that you have not done in the first place. Especially since you refer to your "100% satisfaction guarantee" with the attorney general and here.

You and Mary have both done nothing but lied and slipped around like snakes ever since we started dealing with you. What sort of people are you? You are unethical and dishonest and should not be in business.

But fortunately this site gets us all together to either get you to become honest or to close your business down thru the attorney general, if word of mouth hasn't done it by then.

We will all let you know here when Ric/Motion Pictures/Kidz in the biz/Annapolis Talent Agency paid us the money back.

Complaint:
Meg purchased a three outfit photo shoot for $496 by Ric Shaw on Nov 7, 2002.
There was no contract or a "no refund" policy signed or explained to us.
Ric Shaw did the first outfit shoot for 10 min shortly before dusk outside in the parking lot on Dec 5, 2003, with a completely unusable result. He offered to do this shoot again. I declined immediately when we saw the prints on January 7, 2003 and asked to have the money refunded for the whole amount or at least for the remaining two outfit shoots as I had lost trust in his photographic skills. He agreed he's not the right person to shoot me and agreed to the refund of the whole amount. He said the new owner Wayne Sterago will take care of it, all we need to do is talk to him.

When we met with Wayne, he told us, that Ric is the boss and only he can give the refund.
We called and talked to Ric over and over, sent faxes; he kept promising the refund while being nice and friendly since January 7,2003.
We had told him, that we were moving to California in 6 months (2003), and he basically waited until we had moved away, until he said he'll do a re-shoot any time we want. We told him many times on the phone from California and in writing, that this is no option for us and kept requesting the refund. My husband did not want to give Ric any trouble, as he was friendly and kept saying we only need to talk to the new owner (who's name changed every few months)to arrange the refund or a re-shoot.

Obviously we should have contacted the BBB right away within the first few months and not give him 2 years to lie to us. Since then we have found that there are many people Ric mistreats with false promises, bad service and even worse refund practices, as you know as well.
