I am am an insurance agent who contracted with this firm to setup appointments with prospective clients at the rate of 6-7 appointments per week. I paid the firm $1,000.00 for 30 appointments.

So far I have had no appointments. The contacts made have all been hostile or non-responsive. Annuity Consult does not respond to my complaints about there failure to perform and refuses a refund. Annuity Consult ignores the agreed upon schedule. They refuse to answer direct questions. Their statement that customer service returns call within and hour is a farce as their customer service does not return calls.

In my experience, they are incompetents and liars. My business is being damaged by their efforts. I want money refunded, which they refuse.

Clones of Annuity Leads Review

#2Consumer Suggestion

Wed, June 28, 2006

It is immaterial whether this outfit is the latest name that the ALR gang (Mark, Neil and crew) are working under, or if it is another bunch who've decided to copy the business model. Its worth noting that even though the mailing address is on the east coast, the 'accounting office' has been listed on their website as being in Cali. They approach sounds very much like the other scams listed here involving Mark or Robbie (who aren't the same people and who opperate seperate businesses) such that there could be another person working the scam, or some of the Cali crew could be trying to throw the dogs off the track by using an east coast addi.

As for addi's, there is some belief that many of the addresses uses by these outfits are actually just maildrops miles removed from the physical locations where the appointments are 'set' from.

The best way for agents to protect themselves is to be highly skepical - IOW, run like h*ll, from any appt setting service which deals only in check pymt . . . you'll be a lot safer if you can pay by plastic and send AMEX to bat for you if you don't get the service you were promised. Also, even if the company you're considering isn't listed here, you can protect yourself by googling all the companies that are, and looking for simularites in in their web presence. One of the commond denominators linking many of the scam companies is that they claim to set all appts the day before, AND they treat that as somehow a good thing. . .but think of it for a moment, if you're doing your own prospecting, and on Tues you speak with someone who sounds like a good investment of your time, but his/her schedule dictates that the meeting take place on Friday, do you blow the person off or schedule the appointment for Friday? I think we know the answer, but these bums make big play of how all their 'appointments' are set the day before . . .I'd consider that alone to be a red flag for a scam.

My final piece of advice, if there are any legit annuity appt setting companies, they are certainly aware of the crooks whose presnece makes it harder for them to do business. I would insist that any company claiming to be legit prove it to you by in your early period of working together, only taking payment AFTER you've gone on the appointment and found the company to deliver what they're promising . . . if the company wont do business on your terms, don't do business on theirs.
