WHEN I STARTED MY SERVICE WITH ALLTEL EVERYONE WAS SO NICE BUT NOW THAT I HAVE A PROBLEM THE "NICENESS" IS GONE.

MY FIRST BILL WAS $577.00 AND I WAS QUOTED WRONG INFORMATION ON MY MONTHLY SERVICE PLAN AND AFTER ALMOST TWO MONTHS OF SERVICE I HAD STILL NOT RECEIVED A WRITTEN CONTRACT.

NEEDLESS TO SAY THE PERSON WHO SET UP MY SERVICE WILL NOT RETURN MY CALLS AND NO ONE ELSE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO HELP ME.

i am a former employee of alltel. normally on first bills, it is usually higher b/c of:

1) this is a prorated amount containing,
the rest of the billing month when you get the phone, and

2) one month in advance. also, something that is not always voiced is the your minutes are prorated (most plans) in the first partial month. unfortunately, this means that people think the have (for example) 500 minutes, but prorated they may only have 50 (if towards end of billing period).

the best course of action w/ anything is to go or call the local store where you got phone, and find out the name of the general/district manager (also called regional president sometimes). i would not even bother w/ the store manager. if you contact their boss directly, action will be taken faster and probably friendlier.
