I sold this guy a $900 set of lights that he claimed were broken by UPS during shipment and then he refused to hand them over to UPS to be returned to me after he had been given a refund. Ebay refused to do anything about it. It clearly says on Ebays website to contact the seller and let them handle the return before opening a claim and Ebay refused to acknowledge this and would not do anything to help a customer for many, many years to get his money back. I will be going to the police over this but I don't know if they will do anything since I have no way of knowing if this fraudulent buyer actually gave Ebay his real information since he is clearly dishonest and stole from me.

As far as I am concerned Ebay is just as guilty with their refusal to help a VICTIM OF A CRIME. I just want my money or my lights back and Ebay refused to help me get either. Is there any real justice in this world? He gave me this whole life story to make himself out to be this honest guy and every word of it was very clearly a lie. What's worse is after I sold them to him he told me he was going to use them for an illegal marijuana grow operation and if I had known this before I sold them to him I never would have sold them to him. In his exact words (somewhat paraphrasing) "I'm not giving the lights to UPS they don't need to know about my business" after we had already agreed he would be sending the lights back.

He also told me he was going to tinker with them and try to fix them which as soon as he said that should have voided any hope he had of a return but me being a good seller and wanting to make the guy happy was going to allow him to return the lights and give him a refund believing if he couldn't fix them UPS would likely give me my insurance money anyway but the guy ran off with both my lights and my money so now I have nothing and am out almost $400 (I gave him a d**n good deal on top of it but they are $919 lights MSRP) and Ebay 100% refuses to help me in any way. As far as I am concerned the sale took place on their platform and they should be responsible for this especially when they tell buyers to go through the seller first before involving them.

If this guy had tried to return the lights through Ebay he would have had to have paid return shipping of $207 and odds are I would have gotten a negative feedback from him because of this either way. The worst part is now Ebay is going to charge me seller fees on top of it so I am getting screwed every which way here. Way to add insult to injury Ebay. EBAY LET ME GET ROBBED! and during a time where my family certainly could not afford it. We have been descimated my the coronavirus and now Ebay is adding to it, just like everyone else has been descimated, only now I have been robbed on top of it.
