Antwerpen Toyota in Clarksville, MD is the Worst dealership I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. There management has no problems lying; scamming & making false assurances in order to sell there vehicles. I was looking into purchasing used vehicle & was up in the air about the vehicle so in effort to make a sale I was told they would give me 3 day to try vehicle out & if at that time I still didnt want the car I could return it & the Pending contract would be torn up! When I went to return the vehicle not only did the Finance dept deny the verbal contract but they lied to me about my trade-in vehicle & submitted contracts under false pretense without my consent!! I was given the run around when I attempted speak to General Manager & told my trade-in had already been sold despite the fact that I still had my title & when I showed up to dealership my car was sitting in back lot Unsold! I later spoke with the Business manager who informed me that he did not care if I had a verbal contract he had a signature "that's all he cared about" I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership ever again - I am still attempting to retrieve my trade-in but, in the meantime all I pray is that I can worn as many people as possible not noone else has to go through this! They abused there authority as a dealership more importantly as a big company just to make a sale!!!! I am single mother with 6 yr old; i can not afford the outrageous APR and now am in financial jeopardy of losig everything because i took a business at their word! I bleieved that a verbal contract stood for more & never would imagine managament would praise there employees for lying scheming & fraudlanity charging customers for contracts that were not complete!!!

MAJA, EVEN THE POLITICIANS IN THE USA ARE BENEFITTING FROM ALL OF THE FRAUD & CORRUPTION TAKING PLACE AT CAR DEALERSHIPS......

all over the USA.

Some of the big publicly held automotive dealer groups in the USA 'wine & dine' many politicians, because these politicians could pass laws making it easier for consumers to understand what they are signing when they're buying vehicles. There are some who wanted to make buying a car easier, by making loan documents much simpler so consumers could understand. But the politicians (most of them) are easily paid-off by the corrupt people who run most of the corrupt car dealerships in the USA.

If you 'Google' this- ELIZABETH WARREN GRILLS GEITHNER, CRITICIZES TREASURY'S FORECLOSURE PLAN PBS, you can hear what she said at 4 minutes 50 seconds into that interview about CAR DEALERS! (It's a 6 minute 17 second interview.)

Keep in mind, the car business is also a BANKING BUSINESS! Most people who buy cars will finance them, right? Most of the banking system in the USA is corrupt. That's why it 'melted down' in September of 2008 and the U.S. economy collapsed and over 8 million people lost their jobs. Millions of homes were sold to people who were tricked into taking out ARM's and Interest Only Mortgages, right? Millions more re-financed their homes and were tricked into ARM's and Interest Only Mortgages too, correct?

The U.S. economy (much of it) is based on lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, greed, trickery, and the constant pursuit to financially injure innocent and unsuspecting people in this country. Our politicians know this, but they are BENEFITTING from all of the fraud!

*Make sure to 'Google' the following and watch them on the web for proof of how cars and homes were, and still are, sold in the USA-

A written agreement over rides any verbal agreement.

Steve is right on this one! The salesmen and the F&I guy's looovvveee telling you whatever it takes to get your name on the dotted line.

Once you sign the written contract, anything said verbally is out the window. In fact, if you look at the written contract right above one of your signatures will be a statement similar to the following:

'This contract contains the entire agreeement between you and us relating to this contract. Any change to this contract must be in writing and we must sign it. No oral changes are binding."

The salesman and the F&I guy (or woman) know this and will tell you anything to get your signature. Once you sign it, you are stuck with the vehicle unless you have a written agreement to return the vehicle within X days at no penalty. In your case, they would have had to have the 3 days in writting in order to make it valid. The way auto contracts are written, there is no such thing as a pending contract. Keep that in mind because if you sign it, the vehicle is yours UNLESS the seller decides to cancel the deal (which is in your written agreement too).

Read the contract. You will be amazed at the terms. If you don't understand it, don't sign it. The best way to buy a vehicle is to pay cash. If you don't have the cash, go to your local credit union and get a loan.

The answer to your last statement about management rewarding their employees for lying and scheming and fraudulantly overcharging customers on their interest is only half right. Not only do they reward the employees, they train the employees on the best ways to trick us! Their entire showroom is designed to separate you from your senses so you sign a bad contract. The worse the contract is for you, the more money the dealer makes. Its up to you to protect your own interests.

MAJA, THE WAY THAT BUSINESS IS CONDUCTED AT MOST TOYOTA DEALERSHIPS IN THE USA IS.......

a direct reflection of how much of the U.S. economy operates.

Without lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, and trickery, much of the U.S. economy would collapse. This is the reason that there was a collapse of the banking system back in September of 2008. Millions of homes and automobiles were, and still are, sold in the same way. A house and an automobile are the two biggest purchases that most Americans make in their lifetime, right?

If you 'Google' the following videos and watch them on the web, you'll see and hear how houses and cars are sold in this country-

COUNTRYWIDE WHISTLEBLOWER REPORTS LIAR LOANS

*It's just more proof that the United States of America is a country whose foundation is solidly built on lies, deception, fraud, manipulation, greed, trickery, deep corruption, and the constant pursuit to financially injure the innocent people living in the USA.

Good luck to you!

P.S. You can spread your Ripoff Report all over the web at sites like Twitter & Facebook. The last thing a Toyota dealership wants is to have their name tarnished on the worldwide web. It might hurt their sales and other people who live in your area might find out how they treat their customers, correct?

Never believe a salesman!!

Never believe a salesman!
Lying is a sport for salesmen.

It amazes me to see just how gullible people are nowadays.

Just use common sense.

You should have got the 3 day trial offer in the written contract.
