In August 2004 I was going to move from Maryland to California and, having received a card from USA Movers, I called them and got an estimate through email of roughly 4,000 $. They never sent anybody to survey my place and the amount of stuff that I needed to ship.
I also bought "insurance" from them, enough to cover a value of 35,000.00$.

They called me a month before the date (exactly) since they thought that the moving was taking place in July instead of August.

On the 20th of August, the real day, they showed up late (4 hours), 4 people of whom only 2 had experience of moving and the two others were being allowed to work and therefore paid only when needed. They brought with them roughly 25 boxes...to move a 3 bedroom and den, completely full, townhome!

I spent more than 50 dollars in beverages, gave them a steak each for lunch and 30$ ea tip. I paid for them to pack everything (800$).

The following day they hired two young guys who were allowed to work out of jail during the day. No need to say that a digital camera that was in a piece of luggage, disappeared first thing.

They started loading the truck again at 1pm, because they did not have enough boxes and I was finally able to leave the premise at 11 pm.

At the time of delivery they presented me with a bill of more than 8400.00$ (more than double).

They began unloading the furniture and...every single piece of furniture was damaged, every single one. There is an old buffet that I had bought from Italy whose top was completely demolished. They managed to break a solid wood table, the bottom frame.

Anyway, I called Anything Anywhere and its owner, Mr. Jaime Garcia, to send someone to assess the damage and to fix it or pay for it. They completely ignored my phone calls and my letters and therefore I decided to sue them in the small claims court. They did not show up at the first and the second meeting and therefore I was granted the judgment. Mr. Garcia, whom I had sued as an individual, because the status of corporation had been suspended in the meanwhile by the State of California, submitted a motion to vacate the judgment and he did not show up at the meeting. The motion was rejected but Mr. Garcia appealed again.

He offered me a repayment of 1,000.00 dollars for damages that amount to more than 4,200.00. His refuses to submit the claim to the insurance company with wich were insured at that time, Transguard Ins. Co. (I don't know why).

I tried to have Mr. Garcia come to Court for an assessment of property but guess what.....he is never there. The Sheriff cannot locate him.
In the meantime, the BBB membership has been taken away and they are not members anymore of the CMSA. and they are not insured anymore with Transguard.

This is a perfect example of a company made of bandits and ghosts.

DON'T USE THEM IF YOU ARE ATTACHED TO YOUR FURNITURE, CRYSTALS, CAMERAS, and other personal items
