After certified letters registered return receipt to cancel this membership due to no longer living in that state Anytime Fitness is still auto drafting money out of my account unauthorized. I spoke to the owner personally four months ago and was assured once the certified letter arrived the account would be canceled You can never get anyone to answer the phone and my bank assured me three weeks ago a stop payment was issued Three days ago they auto drew the money again How can I get this to stop!

that you should not have to cancel the card. However, the gym has proven it will continue to take payments. The bank is required to send the payments as requested. So it's in your interest to cancel the card. It might be an inconvenience, but I bet it's less of an inconveience than to continue seeing the gym take payments.
We did just that

After requesting the membership be stopped the owner stated we had to send a certified register return receipt request which we did to cancel. The next month the autodraft was done so we called the bank and we insured it would be stopped The next month it happened again so we called the bank and had to have the debit card cancelled to get them to stop We should NOT have to cancel cards to have someone do the right thing PERIOD

on how they are accessing your account. If they're using your card number, report the card as lost and request a new card with a completely different number. If they're using your account number, you'd have to close that account and open a new one.
