I just discovered that AOL has been billing my credit card 8 years after I called them and cancelled my subscription and when I had my credit card # changed they sent me letters asking for additional money while threatening to send me to collections if I didn't comply!

Are you saying that you have not checked your credit card balances, statements and transactions for the past EIGHT (8) years!???  Amazing.

Take a look at your transactions and statements for all of your accounts. I bet you are paying other unknown things too. The whole purpose of a statement is to check it to make sure you are not being billed erroneously. You lose your ability to contest the debit to your accounts after 60 days for most credit card transactions. It only takes a few minutes to check your accounts. For your very own protection, I suggest you don't use an auto debit f/credit feature any more. Then you will be forced to actually pay attention to your financial accounts every month when you make manual payments. Good luck.
