AOL American Online ripoff, dishonest, and no reply dishonest ripoffs Internet Internet
I wanted to discontinue AOL, so I call and they asked me to give them another chance and that they would give me two months free service. However, they still deducted the two months service from my bank account.
Another problem I had was that they told me they'd send me billing information in the mail but I did not recive any.
They gave me a billing number to call and a recording told me to wait on the line for a representive but no one ever answered.
Frusterated! I just want to get rid of AOL Please help!

I will have to say that I agree whole heartedly about AOL and their business practices. I too have had problems with them. They do indeed make it next to impossible to cancel your account (which I do still currently have) but they also call you with offers for things on a free trial basis. They tell you at the end of this three months that it will charge such and such amount to the account that they have on file. My suggestion is you not only stop payment on them for that amount but make it at company level that way it cannot go through ever.

This is for Sandra in Ohio.....the first thing you need to do it go to your bank...tell them that AOL is debiting your account without your permission. This will stop them from taking any more money out of your account.
I am fully aware of what you are going thru as I have had the same problem with them and it has been on going.
The above process is the only way you will stop them...I tried for months until I went to the bank and now they can no longer debit the checking account.
GOOD LUCK.....AOL SUCKS AND NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!!
