Aol Canada ripoff charged my credit card for 5 months after I cancelled my service Internet
I tried the so called free offer of 3 months of AOL when I received the disk in the mail. I cancelled, as my husband, did not want to switch from sympatico. They kept billing me.
I did not notice because I do not use that credit card much. I called when I did, waited for ever, talked to someone named Dennie. Of course after being put on hold forever, I was somewhat hostile to say the least. He looked up my credit card number and said they had billed be 5 months. I could not give him my disconnect authorization number so he said he couldn't do anything about it.
I think I notified them to disconect on line but really can't remember, it was 5 months ago. He put me on hold again while he looked up my account. I asked him what he was going to do about it, Aol has stolen the money from me after I asked them to terminate my service. He said he could do nothing without a disconnection number.
I asked him to disconect the service and give me the number. He threatened to disconnect the call when I became hostile. Oh yes, insisted on telling me I could be re-connectedby clicking on the icon. I did not want to be reconnected. I threatened to tell everyone I know about the shabby service. I don't care how polite the guy was, I was ripped off.
I am in the customer service business, you don't treat customers like this. Appareantly Aol makes enoutgh money ripping off their free trial customers not to care.
