I went through the cancelation process with AOL. It took over 4 months to cancel. I will not go into details here but I will give you a solution to your dispute. Contact your state Attorney General. I contacted the California Attorney General and it was amazing the promptness in which AOL answered to them. They gave me back the fees for the month that I was disputing.

If your state attorney general receives enough complaints against a company he/she will take harsher action against that company.

I am not a vindictive person but what AOL did to me was wrong. A person should not need to cancel their credit card to insure that an Internet service is canceled. I pitty all those people out there that made the mistake of having AOL take money out of their checking and savings account.

Remember also, your spending dollar counts!!!! Cancel your subscription to Time magazine, cancel your Warner cable service and get a satalite dish. Let AOL know that their policies are not acceptable!!!!!!
