AOL charges for cancelled accounts.
I cancelled my AOL account in November 2001(during a free trial) because I received an e-mail indicating that my account information was being used by someone else. I sent them a letter and also called to cancel.
In February, I received a bill in the mail. AOL is telling me that my account is past due in the amount of $57.80. Why? I cancelled and haven't used AOL since, and the service I used was a free trial. Is that someone still else using my account and I am not aware of it? or does AOL enjoy charging people for cancelled accounts?
