I received my phone bill on 12-23-02 and noticed that there was aol online charges added to it. Well I called the company on the same day. When I contacted the company they told me that I verified everything, but the screen name so the company did not consider the acct to be fraud. I finally demanded to speak with a supervisor three times, and still did not get to speak with one. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I did not sign up for the services nor do I want there services. The company is illegally charging my phone bill. I was talking with my phone company and they told me that "they can not charge you for something you did not order that is illegal."

I was on the phone for an 1 1/2 hours trying to get THERE (AOL)problem cleared up. So I told them that I work for a govt agency and told them to place a credit on my phone bill, and don't opened the acct again. Well I recieved my next phone bill on 1-24-03 and found that the company charged my phone bill again.

The charges this time was on 12-20-03 3 days before I spook with them. I called the company and again and a person named mike in WA told me "no further credit is to be issued". I asked to speak with a supervisor and there again would not let me do so. I am very unhappy. I do not want there services, because I have MSN.

I think the company is trying to scam people, thinking that they can get away with it. I have reported them to the FTC, and to the BBB, State AG, and www.fraud.org, FCC and anywhere else I can report this company.

AOL has a problem with its billing vendor

#5Consumer Suggestion

Charity,

AOL isnt trying to scam you. The problem is the third party vendor that handles the phone bill charges. There have been numerous complaints about the phone bill charges from AOL. Call AOL again and ask how the account was set up. Most likely yours was set up the same way as the others, one of those CDs that offer hundreds of hours for free as a trial. Have the AOL agent youre talking to manually reverse the charges and kill the account while you are on the phone. This should be fairly easy if you havent been using the account. If they have information that shows someone is using the account then have them delete it immediately.

Then go to AOL.com and file a complaint through the feedback forum. AOL needs to change the vendor it uses to bill by telephone.

Good Luck,
