Complaint Review: AOL

AOL has repeatedly refused refund ..we requested to be terminated 4 months ago!.

Back 1-??-01 my husband requested our account closed, the aol rep said it would give us a month 2 think @ it, and told us 2 call again at that time, we did when we had again been billed 4 a month of "membership" which we had already requested terminated.

March again we were billed, my husband offered assurances that he would take care of it, well the month got away from he & i , coz i thought it was taken care of.

The first week of june i retrieved a mass mailing from aol that infomed me that only days earlier our account had been closed. Well, i called, the rep told me that because the account was in my husbands name that she could not talk 2 me @ the account.
This was after i had supplied his SS#, DOB, PH#, ADD, & ANY & ALL ADDITIONAL INFO THEY REQUESTED.

So, my husband called & AGAIN requested the refund of monies billed although we had repeatedly request our account B closed, the rep told him that there would B no monies refunded, whereas we were billed only membership fees.

Now here's the kicker, our credit card # had been given 2 2 magazines they mysteriously began, but when the charges showed up on our bill we looked at each other in astonishment, coz not only had we not order the mags, neither of us had authorized the payment.

After, calling customer service with the credit card and explaing that we had not authorized the periododical they offered assurance, and suggested we continue 2 examine the bill closely.

This has been terrible! ! Any assistance or suggestions that you can provide would be gratefully accepted ! ! !
