Theivery of checking account funds .....

According to my records, AOL ripped me off for $675.37 over a 7 month period! I sent them a letter and haven't heard a single thing from them. Zip Nada! No response whatsoever! Here's what happened....

After signing up with AOL for $28.90 per month I would regularly check my billing statement on-line and everything would look correct. In the meantime my 2 daughters had created their own screen names on my account for their own use.

These were to be screen names only. Not new accounts. Next thing I know my bank account is being charged for 3 separate AOL accounts without my authorization! And the on-line billing statement still only showed the 1 charge for my account. I demanded a refund with no success. Not even a response letter.

The other ripoff involved AOL's "Free 90 day trial of DSL High Speed Internet Service". I agreed to give it a try and was sent the equipment needed. I received the equipment and set it up on my PC but decided I didn't like it. I repackaged the equipment and wrote a letter of cancellation and sent everything back to the address listed for returns. This was done long before the 90 day free trial period was up.

Months later I was checking my bank statement and noticed I was being charged for the DSL Services even though I didn't have the equipment!!!! When I contacted AOL I was told that I should have sent the letter of cancellation to a different address than the equipment return. Since I didn't send the letter to the proper address I was stuck with the charges. What a rip-off! Doesn't the left hand talk to the right hand???????? I'm wondering how many other people were ripped off the same way!
