I tried a 30-day disk that did not ask for a credit card and after the 30-day trial expired and I CHOSE NOT TO SIGN ON FURTHER, I stopped using the service. There was zero activity on the account for 10 months until I realized my phone bill reflected this 28.90 charge.

I tried to communicate this to the customer service person, even though she lied and said she could not check back further than 3 months. Being a hardened and callous veteran, she deflected all requests to speak to a supervisor, and proceeded to belittle me for not noticing the charges on my phone bill.

I explained that the charges are well hidden from view in the last page on the back where calls are not listed. Given that I had no reason to look, I never saw the AOL fees and i proceded to be robbed for 10 months.

She finally hung up on me, leaving me stunned
I have written a letter to AOL, which i'm sure has been added to what must be a collosal pile of similar complaints. Why are there no repercussions for this awful company? Never have i dealt with a business so vile and dishonest.

Can't anything be done? I will never get back the $289.00 they stole from me. I hope they go bankrupt.
