In 2002, aol offered free trial netmarket membership. I cacelled aol and called netmarket to cancel that also in 2002. I never used or logged on or knew membership was active until 5/13/o5 when I received my first and only reminder that the fee of 89.99 was to be deducted from my checking acct in the next few wks. I called and they have not acknowledged the cancellation 3yrs ago, and encouraged me to at least log on to get 25.00 rebate for a purchase, before they cancel. this is unfair, My spouse must not have realized what the auto deduction was for but I do not feel this is a fair practice, to bill without notification. I am out 240.00, for nothing. aol is famous for continuing to bill for internet services after cancellation, this also was my experience for 6 months. I strongly suggest anyone to pay closer attention and cancel in writing as well as online and phone.
