I've been a long time customer of Groupon.com and Restaurant.com. I've bought, used and returned lots and lots of certificates over the years. Reasons for returns: business closed, business too far away, not able to utilize certificate, etc. Some certificates were still valid, some had expired because we never got to travel to use them.  Not a single one was ever turned down for credit to purchase another certificate. (Theoryl not used, no one paid.)

Now comes along a local company, AP Daily Deals. They jump into the game of trying to cut into Groupon.com and Restaurant.com's local business endeavors.

They start offering deals and running ads and promoting thenselves thru ADpages.com monthly magazine mailer.

My partner, who found a few dealls interesting, spent some good money over the last 14 months. Horseback riding for 8 at a weird off the wall stables that wasn't much, but we had fun.

Now, my partner knows I love go karts, as I've bought a few certificates from Groupon.com for  place in Lewisvlle. She finds this deal on APDailyDeals.com for a new place in Frisco that has ridiculously high cost for go karts, grabs 2 certificates at 50% value, ($40 vallue for $20), which is equivalent to ten minutes in a go kart, after an hour wait in line. $40 dollars spent for my birthday present.

Now the certificates are given to me. I'm sort of thrilled. Can't use them on Saturday, guys day to play. Can only go ewhen it's full of children and family and the lines are full, meaning you have to stand in line with kids of all ages. The first night I went, i dod not want to stand in line with nosiy kids. Nor did I want to stand for an hour, onkly to ride for up to 10 minutes. A waste of a weeknight evening. Could only use one certificate per visit, meaning I'd have to invest 2 seperate nights for maybe 20 minutes of riding.

The certificate were in an envelope on my dresser. My partners birthday is coming up sot I thought we both could go for a ride. I go grab the envelope and open the certificates and find that they had expired 3 days ago. Not really caring since the place is not my kind of place, I figure I can call and get my partner credit, since they were not used.

I call the number on the certificate and explain that the certificates could not be used, and since the company didn't get paid, could my partner get credit to uose oj another offer, ( as we do on Groupon and restaurant all the time).

Basically, they said, tuff luck, we dont refund. So, basically, my partner is out the $40 she spent on these. What a joke for a local company to do. Can guarantee my partner and I will never use AP DailyDeals again. And I will blast and post regularly to all my twitter and fb business associates to not use AP DailyDeals They don;t give a crap about locals. They just want to take your money and tell you to go stuff it if htere is a problem. Customer Service at it's lowest form.. Way to go Plano business!

All We wamted to do was get credit to use something better suited for us, on her birthday this weekend.

Well, after I filed the report, I sent them a message thru their Twitter account and mentioned Groupon.com and Restaurant.com and how good they treat their customers. I never heard back from AP deals, but Restaurant.com was quick to send me a Tweet and thank me for the compliment.

So, after not hearing back from them after my phone call and a email message I had sent them the day of contact, I've been meaning to call them again to get this matter taken care of. Days got busy and it kept getting pushed aside. Till this morning.

My first goal as i came out on the patio to work this morning wasd to contact AP deals. I called and got their usual pphone staff. After being on hold for a few minutes was told the mgr was on a business call. I said I would call back.

It wasn't an hour or so later that an email came in from AP deals sent to myself and my partner, the one who bought the certificates.  This is what the email said:

"Hi Paula, (& Crazy)

Although we do not normally give credits or refund for expired or unused vouchers we will make a one time exception.  We issued you a $40 credit to your APdailydeals account to apply towards a future purchase.

For future reference, we have a 30-day refund/return policy on all of our vouchers unless the company went out of business or did not honor the voucher as stated.

Basically, I responded and thanked them for doing that. I did mention to them that if they were going to be playing in the same arena as the Big Boys (Groupon.com & Restaurant.com) and working on taking some of their customers away, that they should at least treat the customers the same way the Big Boys do.

Whether my partner continues to use them or not, I have no idea. I just know that I will continue to use the 2 Big Boys mentioned as they give great customer service all the time.

Thank you Ripoffreport.com for letting me use your site.
