AP29 24PROTECTPLUS - USA PEOPLE SEARCH ripoff Cooperative companies to gain access to your credit card to charge false charges Internet
Purchased a legitmate '24 hour access' from USA People Search for 14.95. Paid when credit card bill received. Next month suddenly there appeared 3 entries to our card by AP9 24PROTECTPLUS. In search on internet, found many many complaint on this company, which is apparently a scam operation that offers scam artists various methods to rip-off innocent folks. Further investigation disclosed that USA People Search appears to be in cahoots ... as disclosed by a chat with a clerical person, who stated that "yes indeed, the company (AP9 24PROTECTPLUS)does relate to us (USA PEOPLE SEARCH) because they advertise via a link on our website."
Ironically, the charges for AP9 24PROTECTPLUS were the same as USA PEOPLE SEARCH ... 14.95.
So if you do business with either one of these outfits, suggest you study your credit card very closely in the future months. Via the assistance of the nice folks at our credit card company, who acknowledged they were aware of these scam artists, they freely cancelled and reissued our card; to prevent future access.
