In April of 2008 I used an Internet site called PeopleFinders in an attempt to locate a lost family member. Service provided a promotional one time only fee of $4.50. They took my personal information. My next bank statement showed a payment to them for $19.90 for monthly membership. I called them and told them I was not interested and that I had just purchased the promotional.

They said they were sorry and said they would return the $19.90 to my account, this they did. I didn't look at my account statement until yesterday 07/18/08 and noticed a payment to AP9*PRIVACYMATTERS.COM. I checked with my wife to see if she knew what is was. She answered no. I called my bank and they could give me no information.

I used the phone number on the account statement. a young woman answered and in a very nice manner spoke with me. She stated what the company was. "Personal information protection company. When I said that I had never ordered this she transfered her to her "supervisor".

This woman is with out a doubt the most rude nasty person. She red off a script about their company policy on any refunds. Also stated that I had two accounts with them. I told her I had no accounts with them and that they had used my information without my authorization and that I wanted a full refund of all my money. She stated that they would refund on July and June. I stated thqt what they had done was fraud and that I would file complaints with my local Sheriff, the FBI and Better Business Bureau of Idaho and of National as well as FDIC Federal Regulation E. (which I have done). They hung up on me)

Later that day they sent me E-mails, three of them. I will list them next #1 from: PRIVACY MATTERS IDENBTITY CANCEL CONFIRMATION FOR MEMBERSHIP # 974289645 dated Wed July 16 at 308 pm. (Notice I didn't complain to them till July 18. They listed my confirmation number as be 974289645-20080717 (nice number Hu)?

#2 from:PRIVACY MATTERS IDENTITY REFUND CONFIRMATION MEMBERSHIP # 948194230 dated July 18 at 12:23 AM. (again I didn't talk to them until after 10:00 AM this same date). for $39.90. No confirmation # on this one.

#3 from: PRIVACY MATTERS 123 REFUND CONFIRMATION FOR MEMBERSHIP #948194230 (DIFFERENT NUMBER). dated July 18 at 1:05 am. (again they didn't receive my phone call till after 10:00am amount 19.95.

Now I could be wrong on the date or they could. I think it is part of their scam. I am a retired Chief Deputy Sheriff and know how to keep my facts straight.

Also I have not yet seen any refunds.

Note below all the names for these people they have used with me in the last
two days:
People Finders
AP9*pmidenty
Privacy Matters
PrivacyMatter 123
membersavings@privacymatters 123
membersavings@privacymattersidentity
privacymatters@membersavings
All of them are .com

I have a hunch that the prefix on some of the address AP9* is a common code used to access peoples information

All so a list of all the telephones;
1-888-840-6301
1-877-993-6264
1-800-718-8997
1-800-436-0817

I want to see these people quite what there doing no matter what it takes. I've filed complaints with everyone I can find. I will sign and testify in court on any complaint brought against them. Also because I suffer from PTSD and this encounter has brought up very bad issues that I thought were satisfied and caused me discomfort I am thinking strongly of filing a civil suit against them. I'll advise later on this matter.

I had a problem with them too and it was through Intelius which is the same as people search. I closed my bank account and opened a new one because of them. I called them and complained and they said they would cancel my account and I would get my money back. More than a week later almost 2 weeks I had seen no money from them so I called again. The lady on the phone asked me for my account number, not my bank account my membership account number. I told her I don't know it because I was signed up with you guys without my authorization. She then looked me up by my name and said that she could not find me in their system. Sounded like they took me out of their system after I complained, because they thought that if they took me out then there would be no proof that they took money from me without my authorization. WRONG!!!!! I have proof that they took money out of my account.

Then just today I noticed they put only $19.95 back in my account. I am calling them again because that is not the the 4 months refunded I demanded.
