This refers to an identity services company listed under several names and showing up on bills usually with "AP9" in the charge field. It may be based in Connecticut. Among the line items I see on my bill:

AP9*PMIDENTITY.COM 888-840-6301 CT
AP9*CREDITDIAGNOSIS 800-379-5036 CT
AP9*YOURSAVINGSCLUB 877-820-7107 CT

The company offers a $1 service to view your credit. However, it is provided as a free 7-day trial offer. According to Cal (Customer Service Rep #26051), I would have had to cancel within 7 days, and since I did not, it was assumed that I wanted the service that they were offering. My AmEx card is being billed $29.95 for two different services, plus a $1 service fee for each of three items, each month, for a total of $62.90 per month. When I complained to the Tier 1 CSR, she immediately said she would give me a refund for the month, but I would have to speak to a supervisor for further refunds.

Cal must have been the supervisor, and he gave the typical "we're doing you a favor" by charging back only one of the transactions from the month before. I told him I wanted them all wiped, that I never wanted the service in the first place, and he flatly refused. I told him I would put this in an American Express dispute resolution and would file a report with the attorney general as well. On RipoffReport.com alone, there are 52 complaints against this company.
