While checking my disabled senior citizen mother's credit card statement yesterday, I came upon a charge for $169.95 to a company in Connecticut called AP9 Simple Escapes. The charge was made on November 8 of this year. My mother spent the time from September 23 to November 11 in the hospital and a rehab facility, so I know that she hadn't even had her credit card with her. I had made one charge on Nov. 3 to a company for a personal hygiene product for her. We had previously dealt with this company and I had no reason to doubt the transaction.

This is a blatant rip-off!! How many other innocent people don't thoroughly check their debit/credit statements for every item? I'm at work now and must wait until I go home to get all of her account info and contact her bank. I've read prior reports on this site and am unnerved with the hassles which I might face. My mother is not mentally competent enough to handle her own affairs and the battle will fall on my shoulders.

I'll update my story in a day or two.
