I recently went to Intelius to conduct People Search trying to locate my cousin who I have lost touch with. As with many websites - they offered a number of "free trial" services - of which I declined all of them. Since that time there have been two charges of $19.95 on my credit card from them for monthly services. When I called to inquire - they could not find an active account in my name. When I logged onto their website, there was no record of an account. However, I was told that I had agreed to a 7 day trial of their services. They did promptly cancel the account - but refused to do anything about the $40.00 they have taken out of my account fraudulently over the past 60 days. I went through all of my old emails to see if I had received any sort of notification saying that I had been signed up for there services - there was nothing. I am a pretty savvy computer user and never agree to free trials. This practice of Intelius and PMIIdentity is insanely shady.
