My wife received a call stating that our son took out a loan to help launch his business and that he never contacted them about repayment. The woman stated that what he did was considered fraud and that they were filing charges. Since our son is going through a nasty custody battle my wife, being fearful of charges being filed and him being out of town, she made the payment. When I arrived home I immediately knew it was a scam because there is no more debtor's prison. We finally got a hold of our son and proved my suspicions correct. My wife is now on the phone canceling that transaction, as well as, that card. Be careful because there are a lot of scams out here. Even if you know better, as my wife does, they are clever and will exploit your weakness es. Especially the tender hearts of mothers.
