APLUS.NET - Webhosting dishonet aggressive fraudulent billing incompetent webhosting San Diego California

More than just being horribly incompetent (my site was down, inexplicably, more than it was up) they are using what seem to me to be fraudulent practices in an attempt to get my business back.

Nearly a year after closing my account with them, I got a 'bill' in the mail. The form says 'Billing Statement' with an amount due of $149.25
The service details say "Ongoing fee from Nov 14 2003 to February 13 2005"
This statement arrived in the mail yesterday (October 28 2003), and this morning I got an email that reads:

"We mailed your bill for your Internet services however we have not yet received your payment.

We would appreciate it if you would take care of this today.If your statement did not find its way to you, please give us
a call or you can find it on-line at:

http://www.aplus.net/support/support.html

For your convenience you may choose to pay by credit card.You can do so by entering your credit card number on-line from the same web page.

We provide this means of input to our secure server and the information will be processed in strict confidence. Remember, if you pay by a credit card you will save the check processing fee associated with your account. If you have questions or would prefer to call us please contact the Customer Care Department at

We appreciate your prompt attention in taking care your payment and thank you for your cooperation.
